Joe Ma to Renew TVB Contract
Joe Ma (馬德鐘) recently promoted his upcoming TVB drama, Tiger Cubs 2 <飛虎II>, at a radio station. Joe recorded the theme song for the drama, which was aired for the first time at the radio station. Hermon Ho (何哲圖) of Voice Entertainment, the production house of TVB music, said Joe was the best candidate to record Tiger Cubs 2’s theme song as he had also recorded the theme song for the prequel, which was released in 2012.
The 46-year-old revealed that his per-series contract with TVB will end after he completes the comedy Harmony is a Virtue <以和為貴>, which stars Kate Tsui (徐子珊). Though they have not started discussions yet, Joe said the probability of renewing his contract with TVB is very high. However, this also depends on the contract terms.
“I debuted in TVB and it gave me popularity. I am very familiar with the workplace environment and I also have many friends here. I have no problem working with TVB again. TVB is a big platform in Hong Kong and I can greet the Hong Kong viewers comfortably. I have no problem collaborating again, but what about the terms of our collaboration? That will depend on our discussion.”
Asked if Joe is interested to sign under TVB’s management, Joe hesitated in his answer. “I don’t know. It depends on the conditions. I don’t know, maybe the conditions would be so good I can’t refuse!”

If Joe wants to continue to act, he only has TVB. I don’t think he’s popular anywhere else, not other stations, mainland or film… So I’m not surprise that he’ll resign

Joe filmed alot of series in mainland but don’t think his had any hit dramas like Raymond bosco and benny and after his scandal with rose
I think Joe Ma wanted to pay his dues ….. Virginia Lok saved him from being sued by Rose Chan in her “harassment” incident …… by filming more drama series for TVB. At least he knows that he has to be grateful for what TVB has done for him.

I heard Joe Ma is saved by TVB during his scandal. Besides that he has no other market to go other than TVB. He has no movie look and too old looking for mainland TV.
