Earlier, romantic rumors spread between Charmaine Sheh Si Man and Raymond Lam Fung due to their current collaboration on TVB series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa <花花世界花家姐>. Appearing at a Dah Sing Bank promotional event, Charmaine’s rumored boyfriend, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, dismissed the rumors, “For this type of gossip news, it is best to ask the parties involved. These are typical sensational gossip headlines. I do not want to respond to them.”
Kevin revealed that most of his money was deposited in the bank and earned a good return from his investments. When reporters asked what his savings and financial worth was, Kevin laughed and said he will not disclose the information.
Kevin is currently considering purchasing a home, but the prices were quite expensive at more than $10 million (HKD). “I am looking for a home that is 1,000 square feet in size. It depends on the price. I am quite flexible [in my search criteria].”

It seems that Charmaine has rumors with almost every other costar she acts with. So it is hard to tell which ones are true and which ones are not. I think the one with Kevin actually dragged the longest of the more recent rumors. I have a feeling this one with Ray will be shortlived like the one with Moses.
I don’t think Ray and Charmaine has anything. Charmaine is a rumour queen and has rumours with everyone.
charmaine never said anything to spark up rumours between her costars. I feel it is quite unfair to call her rumour queen just because reporters make up these rumours. Plus this time raymond in an interview 2 days ago praised that charmaine was cute, perhaps this was what caused reporters to view as “spark”. Which is fine with me because i do hope they become a future couple=]. Both having tacit understandings between each other and i feel ray is charm’s best onscreen partner thus far.

And Dee, I disagree on best onscreen partner. Sunny Chan is. Ray looks too young for her. In fact Sunny Chan still looks good for his age. When is TVB gonna pair them again? Or is Sunny too “small” for Charmaine now?

Dee, the “Rumor Queen” is the nick given by the paparazzi’s.
Sunny Chan & Gallen Lo did help to guide Charmaine to gasp into her character (Flying Fox & Seven Sisters) and she regards these gentlemen as her mentors. That was what I read from her interviews and articles.
And the co-star she had a crush though she didn’t say it in Be My Guest with Stephen Chan, I’m having the same thoughs as Funn Lim too – Julian Cheung.
Never bought that Charvin were dating. I also believed that it was TVB’s way of hyping Kevin. Charmaine is also used to hype up other actors – either she’s “paired” up with them or she’s pitted against another actress e.g. at award time.
I know that a lot of people loved Julian/Charmaine, but I personally loved Sunny/Charmaine more. I don’t feel like she’s too old for Ray and I think they had excellent chemistry together in DOL.
I actually think Charvin has little on-screen chemistry. I have definitely seen both with others with way more chemistry. I actually think Kevin/Yoyo and Kevin/Tavia are two good pairings for Kevin even if I think he’s mostly a wooden actor.
^ I think TVB hyped up the pairing to help Kevin too after the fiasco with Niki.
I agree about Charvin’s lack of chemistry. Mostly because of Kevin’s wooden acting. Tavia helped Kevin in early parts of AFOS. When he paired with Natalie later in AFOS I see no chemistry.
I disagree with Charmaine not old for Ray. It shows whenever they are paired. Ray had a young fair complexion which made him look young while Charmaine as a woman naturally looks older than the younger Ray. Charmaine suits older guys.
Didn’t watch DOL except some bits and piece. But, in LWOLAP, Charmaine did look older than Raymond. So, with her calling Raymond ‘Big Brother Fung’, it feels out of place.
But, who say elder sister/younger brother pairing can’t have good chemistry?
Funn, I thought it was just speculation that Charmaine and Kevin had broken up and there wasn’t really much “proof” aside from the tabloids linking Charmaine with Moses.
@ Vivien, Charmaine might LOOK older than Ray, but how does that make her “too old” for Ray. The difference between them is 4 years. But nobody ever says anything about a guy being too old even if he might be 5-10-15 years older than a girl.
Guys like Kevin, Moses and Steven – just to mention a couple are more than 4 years older than Tavia, Linda and Fala etc. yet, people seem to be just fine with those pairings.
Sure, TVB trying to push Charmaine as being “younger” is a glaring mistake, but she doesn’t look that much older. I definitely feel that a lot of the antipathy against CharRay is based on a) dislike for Charmaine and b) fan-bias due to people shipping Ray with Linda/Tavia/other.
For me, I’d rather see a CharRay due to their good acting than to see actors on different acting level being paired up. I feel that a discrepancy between acting levels is more glaring disaccord that age difference.

As we all know there’s no smoke without fire. Were Kevin and Charmaine going out at one point? Like other posters, I believe Charmaine fell in love with Julian Cheung but whether that was reciprocated – im not sure.
@advo..totally agree with you. imo, charmaine being 4 yrs older than ray still looks like rays age. For example, tavia’s about the same age as ray, yet when she’s standing next to charm, i thought that she looks even older than charm! I still think charray has the best chemistry. Although DOL was not a hype compare to HOD/MR…the chemistry between charm and ray is more evident than ray and linda! Til this day i still remember every part of charray in dol, not because im a fan but because their superb acting as a couple!
I personally think Charmaine is a very mature woman and more suitable with a more mature man, like Moses or Kevin. Ray, regardless is too quiet for her. I don’t know enough about their onscreen chemistry to comment as I only saw Yummy Yummy, which he likes her and the crush was not returned. But one thing for sure, is that I am getting sick and tired of her rumors, whether she asked for it or not. One minute it’s Moses and now Ray, come-on, just film the damn film already. Sorry, nothing against Charmaine
In Anita Yuen’s interview with Stephen Chan on Be My Guest, she was questioned about visiting Chilamon the set, while he was rumored with an actress. Charmaine’s name was not mentioned, but I think they were speaking about her.
Anita said that Chilam is a very nice guy and can do things that give women the wrong impression he likes them. He is very chatty and can be very friendly in slinging his arms around another woman’s shoulder. After this incident, Anita reminded Chilam to be more mindful of his own actions, so that he will not give some women the impression that he likes them. Anita also mentioned that some women will dismiss the behavior, why others may fill in the blanks in their heads with questions whether the actions signify romantic interest.
Again, Charmaine’s name was not mentioned in the interview. But during filming of tv series, I believe she had only visited Chilam on the set while he was filming with Charmaine. Chilam was probably very friendly with Charmaine and gave her the wrong impression. Perhaps he may even have been interested, who knows? But he probably stopped himself before things got more involved. I think Charmaine did like Chilam, but treated it as a learning experience and became more wary of her male co-stars afterwards.
Actually, she did mention Charmaine. She explained the rumour of her going to set to keep an eye on Julian. She explained that she just happened to be around the set and asked Julian to joined her for lunch. She said Charmaine also lunched together with them at that time.

To be fair, Funn only said it twice. Not a lot actually (compared to some of us, including me, who repeated a point several times). Plus, there’s nothing wrong with being the odd one out and disagreeing with everyone’s comments. It’s not a ‘must’. She just think so and voice her opinion out.

I thought having different opinion on things mean there must be some disagreement with other people’s opinion? Or is different opinion nowadays equate to having the same opinion with the supposed general masses? If my opinion is annoying, then ignore me. But an opinion is never redundant, even one as impossibly ridiculous as yours.
Rumours between co stars are normal and happen all the time. Some people just get the wrong impression that just because their co star or the opposite sex is nice to them that they like them. That is normal in everyday life as well. I think people just have to learn to dismiss those little gestures more and treat them as just friendly gestures rather than romantic ones.I think it takes a lot more than just being friendly to someone and talking to them a lot to show someone that you like them.
As we can see, onscreen couples that have become real life couples has happened before but it is pretty rare. I can only name some since it doesn’t happen often. But it is normal for fans to fantasize about an on screen couple being together in real life if they have great onscreen chemistry together… Gosh, don’t we see that all the time??
