This year, Kristal Tin (田蕊妮 ) and Chapman To (杜汶澤) celebrate seven years of marriage which is certainly not easy in the entertainment industry. Despite the ups and downs in their marriage, Kristal offers a little insight on how she and Chapman maintain a loving and happy marriage.

When Chapman’s career soared, the couple’s distance increased and Kristal had considered divorce. The couple’s communication barriers were high. “Even talking to him, I was unable to get across to him. Although I told him what I was unhappy about, he did not seem to hear me! A husband and wife acting like strangers–this feeling made me feel lost and very distant.” Kristal admitted that she even stayed at a hotel and friend’s house on certain occasions to avoid Chapman.

Chapman’s success was soon marred by rumors, which claimed that he had collected large financial debts. As attacks towards Chapman came from many fronts, Kristal decided that she will remain by her husband’s side, as she was the person he trusted the most. If Chapman did not experience such trying times, Kristal believed that she would have indeed left him.

Overcoming Third Party

“I really admire and love Chapman. To celebrate our seven-year anniversary, he cooked a meal for me. It’s the little things that he does that really touch me. He’s really romantic and sweet. If I were home, he will wake up earlier to serve breakfast in bed to me.”

Regarding discovering a third party in their relationship before marriage, Kristal said, “I don’t hold a grudge against him for that incident anymore. Besides, I’m not the type of wife to always check his phone. It was just that time I had a gut instinct to do so!”

“When I decided that I was not going to leave him based on that incident, then I will never bring it up again. Before, I would always blame the woman for being the third party, but now I realize it’s also whether or not the man can resist temptation. If he goes into the relationship knowing the consequences, then okay, I’ll let it go. There are a lot of things in which we have no control over, so there’s no point in worrying about them. As long as we’re happy in this moment, that’s enough.”

Chapman Admits to Being a Player

Chapman also shared how he felt about the entire incident and he felt pity for Kristal. “My wife was the biggest victim because I was a player back then. Especially when you have a little bit of fame, many women come flocking to you. Although I spent those years just playing around and spending money, I was not truly happy. When Kristal married me, she could have retired because I made enough to support her. However, when I was not doing so well, she was still by my side, so don’t you feel pity for her?”

“Marrying Kristal was the best decision I’ve made in my life!” Chapman continued to declare his love for Kristal.

Kristal also shared that the have been together for thirteen years, in which they have been married for seven years. Chapman continues to surprise her all the time. “No brand name gifts can compare to the little things he does for me. After all that we’ve been through, he is a 100 percent husband. If you ask me if I want to be his wife again in my next life, I think we will merge and become on person!”
