Linda Chung Asks for Charitable Contributions on 30th Birthday

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) recently attended a press conference for the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited to promote the launch of a new credit card. The Brother’s Keeper <巨輪> star, who turned 30 years old on April 9, expressed her love for shopping and revealed that she would often go over her credit limit. “I had over six figures of purchases once!” she revealed.

Asked if her credit limit was too low, Linda denied, “I am always increasing it. It’s just that during holidays, it’s very easy for me to go over the credit limit because I have to shop for my family.”

She shared that she purchased an expensive ring when she was in South Korea to film the TVB television film A Time of Love <愛情來的時候> earlier last year. Linda also received a ring as a gift from her boyfriend once, reasoning that it is “normal practice” for boys to do so.

What about Linda’s current rumored boyfriend, Philip Ng (伍允龍)? Linda immediately sealed her lips and said, “I’m not going to say anything anymore.”

Linda maintained that she supports financial independence before marriage. “We can discuss about joint accounts after marriage.” She then added marriage is a big milestone and planning should not be hasty. “Maybe by then I’ll have something else in mind. I admit that I’m not very well-planned.”

For her 30th birthday, Linda expressed that the best gift to her would be money. She prepared a donations box at her birthday party and urged her friends to donate however much they wanted. “I want to donate that money to an orphanage. I already have one establishment in mind. It’s in Hong Kong.” She also added that she would love to open her own charity foundation in the future.

  1. The title should be “friends” not “fans”. Happy birthday. Good idea to donate money to those in need more than herself.

  2. Yeah! Donation… are a part of the good things … serious that can help…..
Wow , she looks good for her age(30)
    Happy Birthday!

  3. If she has spent her limit over frivolous bling bling items, she has lost her innocence and have assimilated as one of those many materialistic artists before her. I do not see her in the same light anymore.

    1. Buying a bling bling for yourself is consider materialistic???? A woman cannot have her own jewelry? Not like she asked a rich man to buy for her. It’s her own money and a way to reward herself. Nothing wrong with it. She is a celebrity so she can’t buy cheap stuff either lol.

If u follow Linda long enough you will know she is not materialistic. She’s actually very casual if not working. Wearing a hat, glasses, jeans most of the time.

    2. I so agree @aptos…. How much do we know as fans who just follows her on the computer. We don’t know her in person. But for someone who spends more than 100000 on one go, why not donate that to charity if you really wants to help orphans? Hahaha

  4. philip was there at her birthday.
and aptos, shouldnt believe every article that is translated.

  5. The title is so misleading. the current title makes it sound like linda begged her friends for charitable contributions. This isnt true. She asked her friends NOT to buy her physical gifts. instead if her friends gave her money, she will collect the money and donate it!
