Linda Chung “Pushes” for Album Release With Lingerie Ad

Linda Chung “Pushes” for Album Release With Lingerie Ad thumbnail

With the help of her executive boyfriend, Daniel Sit (薛世恒), at Neway allegedly propping up the sales figures of her album, Fala Chen (陳法拉) was once the #1 promoted artist of Star Shine International Ltd. Due to her rumored arrogance, Fala Chen reportedly lost support from her boss, Herman Ho (何哲圖), and now she is no longer Star Shine’s main focus. Currently, Herman is shifting all his energy and resources to support his favorite star, Linda Chung  (鍾嘉欣). Herman is helping her produce a new album that targets year-end awards.

Linda in Lingerie Ad

In order to promote Linda’s new album, the release date is set to around the same time that Linda’s new lingerie commercial will hit the street.

Linda shed her pure, innocent image in her new lingerie commercial. She reportedly was paid $200,000 HKD to renew her contract as the spokesperson for this lingerie line. Admitting that she is not the sexy type, Linda went from a B-cup to a C-cup with the help of the push-up bra. Although Linda never had a previous lingerie photo shoot, she has confidence these pictures will project a healthy image.

Once benched by her record company, Linda’s hard work has finally paid off. With her album releasing at the same time as her lingerie ad, this should help increase the sales of the new album.

Herman Ho: “I Will Not Help Fala Again!”

Last year, Linda agreed to sign a three-year contract with Star Shine. However, at that time, the company spent most of its resources on Fala’s album, and Linda’s album was postponed repeatedly.

Releasing Fala’s album was an order from the boss, and everyone working in the company was required to follow those orders. Many of Star Shine’s people were nice and friendly towards Fala, but she was said to be arrogant and often complained to the staff. Fala’s attitude reportedly did not change, irking even her own boss, Herman Ho. An insider said Fala refused to practice her singing and therefore she has no one but herself to blame for the dismal sales of her album.

Taking advantage of Fala’s reported deteriorating relationship with the company, Linda staged a comeback in her singing career.

Herman has nothing but praises for Linda, and he stated that he will invest in her long-term singing career. He also appreciates the fact that Linda put all her emotion into every song. As for Fala, Herman said the only and only reason why he signed her was to fulfill her dream as a singer. Now that her album is released, Herman stated that he will not help her any longer.

From Fala to Linda

Fala’s TVB series, Queens of Diamonds and Hearts <東西宮略> received mediocre reviews, and she had turned down a few other roles due to her illness this year. Although currently acting in Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄>, the drama will not be aired this year. This significantly reduces Fala’s chances of becoming TV Queen. On the other hand, Linda Chung’s Witness Insecurity <護花危情> was very popular among the viewers. TVB even used their story line from the drama to film a special Mid- Autumn Festival promotional clip to further increase Linda and Bosco Wong’s popularity.

With her television popularity, Linda hopes to achieve success in her new album sales as well. Asked to comment on her favoritism with Star Shine, Linda replied, “Please don’t say it like that! I am just doing my best!”

Fala attended a fashion promotional event on September 25, and revealed that she will film Triumph in the Skies 2 until the end of the year. A new album will not happen for a period of time. Asked whether she felt uneasy about her company heavily promoting Linda, Fala simply answered, “Linda is now being promoted. I congratulate her success.”

      >Asked to comment on her favoritism with Star Shine, Linda replied, “Please don’t say it like that! I am just doing my best!”

She must think we’re f**king retarded. You’re pretty, but please, please, not everyone can sing.

I do await the lingerie shoot but I’m not expecting anything out of it though.

    2. simplitee says:

Never liked Fala and sorry but her singing is indeed terrible so probably best to just focus on her improving her acting instead. As for Linda, i’m still not liking her breathy voices although some of her songs (music) are okay i guess.

    3. irtrustno1 says:

Uhh.. most singers today can’t really “sing”.. That’s why I no longer listen to chinese pop.. But between these 2, I’d rather listen to Linda’s singing..

      • shu says:

nowadays you dont need do be a good a singer to come far, there are 2 factors that make you famous nr1 you must have a huge base of fans such as raymond lam. nr2 if you have this then you will be automatically promoted no matter if you are good or a bad singer of actor. because fans=money

        • star says:

However, if one can’t sings well, he will not get as much fans and high sale of his albums. I personally think LF has a great voice and I started liking him after watching his concert.

        • Fox says:

Ok, tell me where the fans come from? If the artists dun have talent, the fans won’t fall for them, so giving them some credits.

        • shu says:

the whole cantopop industry now is a great farce, cantopop died when roman tam, anita mui and leslie cheung died 10 years ago, there are no one that can replace these great iconic stars.instead of cantopop, k-pop rules now over asia and beyond.it has come to this far thanx to the record companies they have only eyes for money and real talented people cant come true, by promoting the ‘wrong’ people because they are good fan gathering.

        • Fox says:

Now we have the issue of egg has first or chicken has first. Being famous = Be promoted or being promoted = famous, which one have first?

        • skinnymocha says:

By no means is LF a talentless bum; it’s just his level of popularity is certainly NOT proportional to his level of talent… He’s okay, I guess.

And someone being over-hyped (irrespective of their skills) is nothing new. Look at the number of reality TV “stars” we have these days, not to mention the young “teen pop sensations.”

        • jjoo says:

I totally agree with you. its sooooo sad that talent is no longer rewarded or recognized in the HK entertainment industry :(

and OMG to ppl that say LF can sing…. like seriously. he’s just from a rich family, so he can afford to use money to make himself look better (through plastic surgery), make/sell/promote his own records and build a fan base. Not to mention use his money to hook up with hot girls….

          what a sad society….

        • looooooooooooo says:

If I am a record producer , I will use 2 option: being famous = be promoted. It’s more economical sense where generating profit comes into hand

      • lol says:

Both can’t sing, but Fala’s songs and singing are bland. Linda has better selection of songs.

      • Ray says:

what about Myolie? I think she sings quite well.

    4. Hannah says:

      lol, pitting Linda against Fala?

    5. aptos says:

The rage now is K-pop versus C-pop…with PSY, HyunA, Super Junior, SNSD and their choreographed moves…Fala is not even in their league! As for Linda, beautiful voice but needs a gimmick to succeed big time and just in the HK market.

      • Fox says:

Honesty then I think that the number of singers who can sing in Korea is even less than in China/Hongkong.

        • skinnymocha says:

          Umm…
          1. China has a larger population.
          2. K-pop doesn’t make up the whole music industry in Korea; there’s some real gems to be found.

        • Lee says:

@skinnymocha, the idol scene in Korea is too dominant for its own good. The Chinese music market is way more diverse and.

        • Fox says:

But the number is still that. Us has less ppl than China but randomly in any contests, we can find good singers.

        • star says:

Yes, I feel that kpop is mostly on looks and packaging rather than on their singing.

      • skinnymocha says:

K-pop is way too aggressive for its own good; they need to tone down that whole “global domination!” thing…

        • shu says:

you mean Gangnam Style….super hyped but the song a very good mix of techno, rap, and pop elements. very addictive.in combination with the MV it is just an outstanding product.

        • skinnymocha says:

I’m talking more about their marketing techniques (especially the way they’re saturating the Japanese market).

BUT, I did see the Gangnam Style MV on TV today. Over here in the UK! (I’m hoping they’ll keep SNSD, Big Bang and the likes away though. We have enough crap as it is, what with One Direction. Bleh.)

        • Lee says:

Agree; I hate all the rhetoric about ‘conquering’ Japan even though very few Japanese are actually fans of Kpop. Yet Korean groups can make way more money from a few Japanese fans than they can from the legions of fans in Korea due to the strength of the Japanese economy.

        • lol says:

Gangnam style is a surprise hit and it’s really addictive. Psy is also not one of those manufactured Kpop idol, he’s somewhat an artiste on his own who produces his own music and video and Gangnam has a good mix of everything.

        • cchiki says:

agreed with skinnymocha about the domination thing going on in korea.

seems like korean idols like to speak about infiltrating other nations’ music industry but the whole country isn’t very friendly when other foreign artists do the same.

      • kk says:

lol, a shaky and breathless voice = a beautiful voice to u????? lol, guess u haven’t watch any of her clips singing live then…

      • TVBFanatic says:

Love K-Pop. Super Junior, SNSD, T-ARA and 2NE1 are my favourite groups atm. Listen to them all the time.

    6. sky says:

when can i see those pix?

    7. Jason says:

Kpop is nice, but sometimes the dance choreography is too provocative in my opinion (almost going to 18+). It’s all about the looks, being sexy, wearing really short skirts/dresses, it’s not really about singing.

Only 1 or 2 members of a girl group can usually sing properly, while the rest of the members look pretty or have other skills.

      • skinnymocha says:

… And I constantly have to remind myself how many of them are actually under 18.

      • Daisy says:

Well said Jason! There songs are addictive I admit but you’re right usually only 2 can sing.
If it wasn’t for their young ages, short and tight clothing I don’t think they would’ve made it this far.

      • lol says:

Kpop is depending on catchy beats and dances and the good looking ensembles of a boy group or girl group. There are too many of these groups now.

      • skinnymocha says:

They’re expected to be sexy and provocative ON stage, but treated like innocent, little virgins OFF stage…

    8. Moon says:

      I disgust with Herman Ho!!!

    9. aptos says:

K-pop, C-pop, hip hip, rap…popularity is in the eyes of the beholder. All the promotion in the world will not make a product unless it fulfils a niche or meets the flavor that the audience desires or is open to. Since technology is almost accessible in any part of the word, it is the ingenuity of the artist(s), manager, promotion company, as well as timing that will be the cutting edge of a hit single or initiation of a new genre.

    10. lol says:

Two people who can’t sing are competing with each other in singing. What a joke.

    11. munkimui says:

fala is cute with those dimples and linda is pretty. i like both. well the hk industry depends on the appearances of people. in the US it depends on the talent no matter what you look like. yes k pop is good but i haven’t listen to them in ages since HOT, Shihwah and SES. after them i have no clue who is around. HK pop is disgusting with mainland chinese. they suck in singing. it’s so low and slow boring songs that puts you to sleep. yawn….about LF. i used to like him a lot but now his face looks completely different. tavia looks different as well. people these days don’t want to look natural. about the person that say LF uses his money to sleep with hot girls. um not all of them are hot. it’s called fake. fake all the way. i prefer stars that work their way up ad not from a rich family that will back them up to make them famous.

      • KC says:

So you all like artist because of their face? Ok, this is what we call extremely shallow

      • Fox says:

From what you write, you also only care about the appearance LOL Are you any different to these HK ppl that you are criticizing? Ah I know, you are not Hongkongers, only resemble them.

    12. KC says:

Jade Lin now finally show her real dream of being as hot as the so-called Chinese dolls. Too bad her sizes are not as fit as them, she should go for plastic surgery.

    13. anoninhk says:

$200,000 HKD is a pittance for a celeb like linda to endorse an ad. maybe it’s actually 2 million hkd?

      • Fox says:

Nope, I don’t think she is in the gate of 2 million HKD. 200k is already pretty high for an one time ad like this. She only gets 100k last year for an ad for some beauty stuffs I don’t rmb name.

      • kcabc says:

Linda can not be that expensive

    14. AC says:

I’m looking forward to Linda’s album because she tends to get a lot of good songs.

    15. Veejay says:

I always thought that Fala’s popularity only soared because of her high profile bf Sit who actually helped her alot. Linda is anyway better than her but she didn’t get promoted as much as Fala..

      • Fox says:

Better in singing or better in any else?

For singing, I agree that Linda is sightly better than Fala but Linda was quite bad with her first album, too, even in studio. Maybe if Fala can fix her pronounciation matter, she’ll get better.

        • Veejay says:

Linda is better in term of singing. Linda still need to polish her acting skill, too soft imo, not enough of emotion.

        • Fox says:

Her singing also needs to work a lot. Especially live singing. In studio she sounds weak but at least sweet, her live singing is simply shaky and chicken voice.

    16. RLF Lover says:

May sound biased but if I were to compare Linda and Fala, I personally think Linda is better than Fala in most, if not all, aspects – acting, singing, personality etc. Although I think it is still a while before Linda deserves TV Queen, I think she should definitely win it before Fala does (if she ever will).

    17. Ray says:

Do you guys think Myolie Wu can sing?

      • Ray says:

I mean is Myolie sings better than Linda/Fala?

        • Veejay says:

No, don’t think so.. I think Linda is the best and Fala and Myolie are par in singing.

        • Kidd says:

Disagree with Veejay. Myolie sings better than Linda.

        • Veejay says:

hehe, its just a matter of preference, I think Linda has a better voice among her peers.

        • Fox says:

Disagree. Myolie has better sibging technique than both of Linda and Fala. Hense she sounds better in live singing than both. In studio, Linda has weak but kinda sweet voice so suit the ballards than Myolie with sour voice, the audiences like Linda accordingly. But Linda has weaker voice. Fala also has weak voice and bad pronounciation in Canto but she has better singing technique than Linda. Training more I think Linda will be surpassed as her voice is also weak.

        • kcabc says:

It’s not the matter of preference, the truth is Myolie’s voice is more trained, she can hit the high notes much easier than Linda and Fala. Linda is shaky live on stage, her voice is just sweeter, but sucks in terms of techniques.

        • Ray says:

I think Myolie actually can sing well. Can tell when singing live. And she won quite some awards for singing.

        • Bridget says:

I think Myolie is a better singer than both Linda and Fala. Linda has phrasing / breathing problems in her singing, and Myolie has better tone. Fala is passable, but her voice is a dime a dozen and she also has diction problems.

      • Hannahh says:

Myolie def can sing and she sound great! Love Linda too!

    18. Hannahh says:

Linda is hot in those lingerie AD.

      Fala is going dowwnnnnnnnn

    19. Moon says:

Now, Linda likes an angel, and Fala likes a witch. lol

    20. Erica says:

Linda is wearing a bit odd lingerie, I wonder if girl in this century wear these kind of lingerie or what…

      Fala, go away.
