Linda Chung Receives TVB 10-Year Service Award
TVB held a “Service Awards for Long-Term Employees of Excellence” to recognize staff members and actors who have stayed with the company for the last three decades. Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), who made her debut ten years ago through TVB’s Miss Chinese International Pageant, was given a ten-year gold medal.
When receiving her award, the 30-year-old used Chai Kau’s famous phrase, “How many decades are there in a lifetime? When I first came to Hong Kong, I thought I’d just stay here for two years and then return to Canada to become a teacher, but now Hong Kong has become my home. If I returned to Canada, I’d probably remain very introverted. I didn’t talk much before, but now I’ve become much more talkative.”
Asked where she sees herself ten years later, Linda said, “Definitely marriage somewhere down the line. I’m going to be 40 years old ten years later.”
Linda expressed in an earlier interview that she wants to have children, and that her ideal age to get married is 33 or 34 years old. Will Linda follow Leanne Li‘s (李亞男) footsteps and get married earlier than expected? “No, I won’t.” Linda mentioned that she did not want the type of public marriage proposal that Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) gave Leanne at the 48th TVB Anniversary Gala. “I don’t think anyone can surpass what Cho Lam did. I don’t want it. I’d be scared to death.”
Other TVB artistes that received their ten-year gold medals of service include Queenie Chu (朱慧敏), Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), and Jess Sum (沈卓盈). Chin Ka Lok (錢嘉樂), Carlo Ng (吳家樂), and Lau Dan (劉丹) received twenty-year gold medals.

TVB has this award every year, it’s based on the number of years served at TVB, it has no bearing on contract or anniversary awards

The award should be called “Awards for Popular yet Untalented Actors and Actresses that TVB Wants to Keep on a Leash”.
They should’ve given one to Lam Fung.

@Mt: Dont be worried, he had his own long service gold medal 5 years ago, together with a number of other “popular yet untalented Blah blah that TVB spent a lot of money to ask for stay while your idols are talented but only you can see that fact”.

Any 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and so on workers will have this gold medal every year. Lolz, funny to see the always-show-off-about-TVB-knowledge fans dont know about an activities happened in years and thought it is consolation or else. Very interesting.
TVB has been doing this for a long time. It’s a nice way to recognize the contributions of artists and behind the scenes staff. Every staff member gets one after their first ten years of service and every ten years after that.
That’s what you get if you cannot win a best actress award. You get either a long service award or a lifetime service award. Poor Linda, that’s all you’re gonna get in your acting career.
Whether Linda gets best actress or not, she’ll still get this recognition award. It isn’t based on whether you act good or not, it’s based on the fact that she served TVB for the last ten years. Other artists who can act gets it too. Yes, Linda has yet to get her best actress award, but it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t. I’d be laughing if any of you people bashing gets as far as she does. I’m not trying to be mean, but whatever you say to others, it comes back to you. Linda worked hard, and when you worked for a decade for someone/somewhere, it’s nice to get recognition right? I mean, ten years isn’t a short amount of time. It’s just to get people happy and into the spirit, and all of you guys have to bash Linda and all. I’m not saying this because I’m a Linda fan, and even with some of the positive comments above, some of you still don’t seem to get it – that for the fact that it’s unfair to bash her, when EVERYONE WHO SERVED TVB FOR THE LAST TEN YEARS GET IT AS WELL: TALL OR SHORT, SKINNY OR MEATY, MALE OR FEMALE, LONG HAIR OR SHORT HAIR, CAN ACT OR NOT, AS LONG AS THEY’VE SERVED TVB.. You go serve TVB for ten years and I’ll bash you. GO. actually, no, I won’t. Even if you might have horrible acting or singing or whatsoever, I’ll be admiring your willingness,determination and loyalty to stay somewhere for so long. So go read a book or something, otherwise, stop bashing.
