For the past three years, Louis Koo (古天樂) has secretly aided in the funding of constructing 49 schools, 50 water cellars, and over 20 medical clinics for the less fortunate in China. In 2009, he established the Louis Koo Charitable Foundation, working on providing for the children who lost their homes and schools after the destructive 2008 Sichuan earthquake.
Representatives of the foundation would visit different areas in China every month to understand and monitor the sites before sending in funds for construction. To ensure properly constructed work, an appointed individual would supervise the entire building project. Since 2009, 49 Louis Koo secondary and primary schools have been established, enabling less fortunate children to have an education.
Louis’ low-profile charitable work was first revealed two years while appearing as a guest on an episode of Hunan Broadcasting System’s Happy Camp <快樂大本營>. Two students from the Louis Koo Sunny Elementary School surprised Louis on the show and publicly thanked him, expressing that they regarded him as their learning target. The principal of the school also gave Louis hand-collected natural honey as a gift.
In recent years, Louis continued to remain low-profile about his philanthropy. He said, “I will continue to help out as long as I have the ability to do so! But I don’t think there is a need to talk about it.”

I personally do not think that it is the biggest deal if it is high profile or not as long as anyone puts out the effort to do anything nice, it really should not matter. Also, as celebs even if you did try to keep it low profile, everyone will eventually find out anyways. I think that being high profile can be a good thing since it may encourage others to do the same.
Jet Li is high profile becaue an organisation is involved. Zhang Ziyi is high profile for the scandals. Jacky has to be high profile because his name gets the funding.
