Mandy Wong Doesn’t Plan to Get Married Yet

At Myolie Wu’s (胡杏兒) wedding last month, Mandy Wong (黃智雯) was the lucky recipient of the bridal bouquet. On whether Mandy was hoping to become a bride herself this year, she laughed and said, “I don’t think so…heard from people in my parents’ generation that this year is not an auspicious year for marriage.”

Mandy then revealed that she was actually not fully certain about the time of her birth (which is very significant in Chinese tradition). She explained, “I have a feeling my mom remembered the time of my birth incorrectly.” Mandy added that she rarely went to see fortune-tellers. She said, “If it’s negative, you won’t feel good. It’s better to be surprised or to let nature take its course.”

On whether she and her boyfriend had plans for marriage, she said, “Well we both know that it’s not happening anytime soon. I’ll be busy with filming until the middle of the year.”

Would Mandy only get married after she wins the TV Queen award? Mandy said, “I won’t restrict myself in that way. Anyway, I would also like to do more theater work and live performances.”
