Since Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) announced their breakup, several of Myolie’s close friends from the entertainment industry came forth to comfort and support her. TVB rising star and Myolie’s good friend, Mandy Wong (黃智雯) commented that she found Bosco to possess an overly playful personality, while stating that she was interested in finding a more practical man as a boyfriend.
Mandy attained greater popularity this year, after her portrayal as “Kwan Yi So” in TVB drama series, L’escargot <缺宅男女>. Afterward, Mandy’s dramas have been broadcast one after another, with good ratings results. Aside from her acclaimed acting skills, Mandy also has a good affinity with the audience, which prompted TVB to heavily promote her.
Mandy Brings Luck to Ratings
In the first half a year, all of the TVB series that Mandy starred in received relatively high ratings, including “L’escargot” The Hippocratic Crush <On Call 36小時>, and Tiger Cubs <飛虎>. Asked if she brought luck to the ratings, Mandy laughingly said, “I wish to continue to bring luck! If I really think about it, I guess I am quite lucky. I’m lucky to be in so many productions. In addition, I was involved in a vast range of scripts, casts, and characters. However, I don’t feel as if I had received a promotion. I understand it was all audience fate. I still have lots of room for improvement. Veteran actor, Li Sing Cheung (李成昌) advised me to be patient and pay attention to my facial expressions. Honestly, I’m concerned that I will not have anything to film next year, since I acted in so many drama series this year!”
Mandy Wants to Play Villain Roles
Unlike other actresses, Mandy is not scared to play a villain role. Her abhorrent character, “Kwan Yi So,” in L’escargot was a challenging role for her. It differed greatly from her own personality. “I don’t like to say much and it takes me a while to warm up to people. However, Kwan Yi So is very loud. I had to observe other ‘auntie’s’ actions and expressions to learn to be deplorable. I don’t mind playing hateful characters like an evil princess or a sinister person seeking revenge. I prefer to let go of my image than have the burden of being a goddess who is always afraid of losing fans! I really like to sing and dance. My wish is to be in a musical. I also want to try an ancient drama; I find the costumes to be quite elegant.”
Mandy Lacks Dating Life
Mandy disclosed that she does not have a boyfriend. “Because I’m so busy at work and oblivious to the intentions of men, I lose a lot of dating opportunities. Fortunately, I am not in a hurry to date. In regards to finding a boyfriend, I want a gentleman who knows how to take care of others. I can’t have a selfish boyfriend!”
Mandy Supports Myolie’s Decision
Due their similar personalities, Myolie Wu and Mandy have become good friends. In regards to Myolie and Bosco’s breakup, she emphasized that she strongly supports Myolie. “I’ve never collaborated with Bosco before so I’m not familiar with him. However, a boyfriend should be more practical. If he is too suave, it’s best to be friends as he can bring happiness to others. Of course, the most important thing is compatibility. In regards to Myolie and Bosco’s breakup, relationship is a personal matter. Myolie and I do not discuss it. As Myolie’s friend, I strongly respect and her support her decisions.”

This grand production looks great. I like the addition of both Mandy and Elaine to the cast as both of them are strong actresses. I’ve grown to like Elaine after Bottled Passion as I wasn’t much of a fan before that but I think she did wonderfully in that series.

Early 50s??? Are you serious? I would love to look like that if I am in my early 50s. I do agree that Myolie didn’t look good in the picture above and older, probably late 30s at most. She looked buzz, tired and had less make-up on, she she didn’t look as pretty as usual.

Hey so my Cantonese is mediocre at best and I can only understand some and not all…ngor sic dee mn sic dee. Would someone please give a brief summary of what was said in the clip, in case I miss parts of it? What did they mean when they were talking about tow sic “yun chai” ? Also, what was the host talking about at the very end of the clip when he said “Boh dong ho dai” ?
tow sic “yun chai” (偷食人妻), meaning Bosco was cheating on Myo with someone’s wife (my speculation is Toby Leung).
“boh dong ho dai” (波動好大), i think they weren’t using the best words to describe…but they basically mean Bosco has always been flirting around, and the “quality” of the girls he flirts with varies a lot (some are hot/pretty, some are not).
they were saying how Bosco has been caught cheating with his assistant (who’s known to be not so pretty).
