Michelle Chen and Chen Xiao Continue Wedding Celebrations

After registering for marriage and announcing her pregnancy in early July, Michelle Chen (陳妍希) planned three separate wedding banquets with husband Chen Xiao (陳曉) in Beijing, Taipei, and Anhui. After impressing guests at their million-dollar gala in Beijing on July 19, Michelle and Chen Xiao continued their wedding celebrations in Taipei yesterday.

Entrance by Boat at Beijing Gala

Luckily, the bad weather cleared up for Michelle and Chen Xiao on the actual date of their banquet, allowing the newlyweds to take many beautiful photos.

Due to make her entrance by boat, Michelle was initially worried that she may trip while getting of it, but the actress expressed her relief when everything well according to plan. Although three months pregnant, Michelle wore four-inch high heels with her wedding gown, leaving Chen Xiao little choice by to hold her tightly throughout the celebration.

After a night of dancing and touching speeches by both parties, Michelle finally tossed the bouquet. Eager to be the next one to get married, good friend and bridesmaid Joe Chen (陳喬恩) tried her best to catch the bouquet but failed in the end.

Continuing with Taipei Celebrations

Michelle wore a bustier-style wedding gown which showed her newly acquired curves from pregnancy. The bride wore $20 million HKD in Cartier jewels and five-inch high heels.

Asked about the gender of their baby, Chen Xiao said, “It’s fine whether the baby is a boy or girl, as long it is healthy.” As to whether the couple will plan for a second baby soon, Chen Xiao said they will see how Michelle feels after giving birth.

The guests at the Taipei banquet included Simon Yam (任達華), Rainie Yang (楊丞琳), and Joseph Chang (張孝全), and Tiffany Hsu (許瑋甯). Rainie performed the songs, “Dream a Little Dream” and “Yellow” to wish the newlyweds happiness in their marriage. Rainie said, “I hope their love will make their upcoming ordinary [married] life extraordinary.”

  1. wow! Very extravagant wedding reception in Taipei !! Dont like Michelle’s bustier gown. Doesnt look elegant at all.

lol…she probably trying to show that she can be innocent, sweet and sexy at the same time but it didn’t work. hhahaa…Looks beyond yucky and tasteless for a bride to be wearing. She can very well use that top for her wedding night attire but not def not as a wedding dress. That looks like something the Kardashians might have picked. lol…

  2. I actually like the gown she wore at Taipei more than Beijing. Not a fan of the bridesmaids dress though. Cute couple. Congratulation for sure!

  3. her ceremony in Taipei has a romantic theme but her bustier gown doesn’t fit in. after a Beijing ceremony and another one in Taipei, there is one more in Anhui.

you really spoke my mind…that bustier top could be used for wedding night.

    1. @janet72 I don’t understand why the need for third wedding. Make me wonder whether it was what they want in the first place or sponsor request.

Perhaps to them $$$ is no object? I don’t know about the guy but this girl probably hit the jackpot w/that apple film and worth more than the guy? One lives in Taiwan and the other from the mainland so kind of makes sense if they want to do at least 2 but yes 3 is over the top but again they have $$$ so it’s not even a issue to them. Some regular people holds 2 weddings at least so imagine celebs. My sis’ godma’s son had a wedding in the states and one overseas w/the girl was from and they already spent a lot I heard from the USA one cuz it’s western style not like the chinese restaurant style where you will make $$$ I heard b/c dishes are relatively cheaper but western style is much more pricey or something. I think it’s over the top and waste of money but to some people esp Asians they love the ‘have face’ think Chinese metaphor it’s like a must when ppl married. I think it’s BS lol….but hey I guess whatever the married couple prefer; some just had a simple dinner hop on the plane and that’s that which is even better but you know everyone thinks differently. Some want it grand just like this couple. 🙂

      2. @kiki My friend did 2 wedding too. She’s from the States but her hubby is from HK. So they have a wedding here and a wedding in HK. It’s kind of a must as for here, it’s for her family and friends while in HK, it’s for his family and friends. Waste of money? Probably but I understand why they need to. Especially if money wasn’t an issue for their family!

They might need a 3rd wedding for his relative who can’t travel to either of their other weddings.

      3. @happybi Personally if they are rich and I believe they are, then they can sponsor their relatives plane ticket and hotel to either wedding. If the relatives cannot come to either wedding, maybe they don’t want to come in the first place or they don’t think it was important enough to come. Just my opinion though.

But maybe third wedding is just rumor because we haven’t heard about it until now.

      4. @gray maybe but if their relatives are old and doesn’t want to travel on plane, then a 3rd wedding closer to these ppl make sense. Personally though I think its a lot of work!

  4. it’s understandable to hold 2 celebrations if family members on both sides are unable to attend. this couple had one in Beijing and another in Taipei. Chinese dinners are not cheap…why not focus on the marriage instead of making the pregnant bride move around so much?

    1. @janet72 I get what you are saying, but pregnancy is not a disability so Michelle can move around. If you look at Michelle, she is not even showing a pregnancy tummy yet. With her and her husband being from different regions in Asia, it is understandable to have a few celebrations in those areas. Let us just hope that the marriage will last after spending so much money. Like you said, Chinese dinners don’t come cheap, especially wedding dinners.

      1. @bubbletea Chinese wedding dinners are never cheap…especially those thrown by celebrities. after spending so much money, let’s hope their marriage lasts.
