Mid-Autumn Festival Takes Toll on TVB Viewership Ratings
When TVB announced its program viewership ratings over the past week, there was a noticeable decline due to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Dramas and variety programs suffered substantially lowered ratings since Friday, September 25, and up until Sunday, September 27, which is the day of the festival. Viewership ratings immediately rose on the following Monday, which marks the end of celebration.
TVB modern series, Every Step You Take <陪著你走>, starring Moses Chan (陳豪) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), aired its finale last Friday evening. However, viewership ratings had been unsatisfactory with a peak of only 23 points. Its average finale rating was 20 points, and the entire series received an average of 22 points.
TVB’s viewership ratings suffered the largest blow on Sunday, the actual day of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The final episode of the variety program Sze U Tonight <今晚睇你> only averaged 13 points, while the series Captain of Destiny <張保仔> and music program Sunday Songbird <靚聲王> both averaged 15 points.
Ratings immediately soared on Monday, when Captain of Destiny received an average of 25 points, which is 10 points higher than the night before. TVB’s new series, Under the Veil <無雙譜>, received an average of 24 points and peaked at 27 points on its first night of broadcast.

If they know there’ll be shortage of viewership die to holiday, why don’t they stop airing it, put in some filler reruns and then continue the series once the holiday is over. This is unfair to the series because it jacks up the rating. I actually enjoyed this series over GoR, which I still can’t believe its high viewership!
I don’t really think it’s solely due to festive season. ESYT is quite boring tbh…. for COD, can’t stand Tony. So when there’s alternative TV show or some things to do, people will not hesitate to turn off their TV or switching channels.

The drama sucks. Myolie is boring. Her role is boring. Her personality is boring.

MC has always been horrid, looks wise and acting wise. haha LOL..He also has a pretty annoying squeaky voice at times too. Still do not know how he got famous. But recently, all TVB series sucks an now looking at their hairstyles above, looks like not only the plots and scripts are bad, it’s EVERYTHING. LOL
Should give this drama a miss then, the theme song by Myolie is quite popular though. Moses’ acting in Ghost of Relativity is quite bad, Kristal Tin saved the show.
