Moses and Aimee Chan’s Wedding Banquet in Toronto

Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) celebrated their marriage union with their family in Toronto on July 17. Although the couple wed in a small ceremony in Paris in June, the second wedding celebration was held in Toronto due to Aimee’s family residing there. At the banquet, the couple kissed repeatedly and when Aimee thanked her parents in taking care of her, she shed tears of happiness.

Banquet at Aimee’s Father’s Restaurant

The banquet was held at the well-known Legend Chinese Restaurant (麗晶酒家), in which Aimee’s father is an investor. Approximately 160 guests were invited to the wedding feast, which served abalone, lobster, and seafood delicacies. The banquet reportedly cost $200,000 HKD. Moses’ mother and elder brother were present, along with Aimee’s family.

Four months pregnant, a curvier Aimee looked vibrant in a low-cut navy evening dress with three-inch high heels. Aimee’s doctor reportedly said that there is a high chance that she is carrying a baby boy. At the wedding, Aimee was spotted rubbing her belly, while Moses was glued by her side to make sure his wife was comfortable.

Known for his attentiveness, Moses won the favor of his new father-in-law. At the banquet, Aimee’s father, Mr. Chan, clarified that reports claiming he was upset about the low-profile wedding celebrations were false. Mr. Chan added, “The wedding banquet was actually planned last year. I am very satisfied with [Moses]. He is gentle and speaks quietly.”

The banquet was lively and anchored by a local MC. Guests stayed until 12 midnight, and fans of Moses and Aimee waited patiently outside the restaurant to send their blessings to the couple. The banquet received widespread coverage among the Chinese media in the Toronto area as well.

A Tight Security Event

Legend Chinese Restaurant is located in Thornhill, a suburban neighborhood within the Greater Toronto Area that is home to an active Chinese community. The restaurant is known for its Cantonese dim sum, and received generally positive reviews from its customers. Since the mid-sized venue can only serve about 20 tables, and because of its popularity among the Chinese in the area, Moses and Aimee were at first hesitant to hold their celebration there. A source revealed that the couple decided to go ahead with the original plan out of respect for Aimee’s father. “Many said that Moses’s father-in-law insisted on having the banquet at Legend Chinese Restaurant. This restaurant, and even the entire plaza, are owned by Aimee’s godfather Mr. Law. They have a very good relationship, so it is understandable that Mr. Law wants to celebrate his goddaughter’s marriage at his own place.”

Moses and Aimee ramped up security for their big event, fencing off the sidewalk and requesting restaurant employees to keep mum about the details. The couple expected around 20 reporters to show up outside of the restaurant, including several from Hong Kong who flew in with Moses on Monday night to cover the event. Aimee’s family was particularly nervous about the media, and Aimee’s father was rumored to have recruited local police to stand guard during the event.

To avoid unwanted visitors, guests were only allowed to enter the restaurant if they presented the banquet invitation. Despite a reported ban on guest photography during the banquet, leaked photos showed Moses and Aimee both beaming in happiness.

On her Weibo account, Aimee later posted a thank you message to guests who attended the wedding, “Merci Beaucoup! A very heartfelt thank-you to everyone for your generous blessings and good wishes! It has made the beginning of life together extra special that we were able to share our happiness with all of you! May sunshine and love follow you wherever you choose to go!”

  1. So happy to watch the video clip on the Toronto wedding banquet of Aimee and Moses.
Congratulations and best wishes to them!

  2. Been searching for the name of the restaurant for a while now… guess I’ll need to go check it out 😀

    1. You will be able to find it on Google. It is along Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road in Thornhill.

    2. That’s the address of the restaurant, 5 Glen Cameron Road, Thornhill. Funny thing is it’s like 2 mins away from my house 😉

    3. We were in Toronto today and stopped by Legend for Dim Sum lunch. Fantastic food! We ordered more than we could eat, so brought a lot home. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it.

      1. Try to go before 11:30 am next time for discount.

      2. Thanks for the information! We will make note of that.

  3. so happy for them, Moses seems really nice guy and should be a good husband too. Aimee looks beautiful 🙂

    1. Agree. Aimee looks very beautiful on the video clip.

      1. yeah.. Aimee looks very beautiful in the video clip

  4. congratulations. now time for both moses and aimee to retire and take care of their baby and reopen his failed coffee shop. they’re not even good or effective actor/actress in the first place so losing them won’t affect much. wish them happy life with cute baby coming 🙂

    1. Your congratulation is not a congratulation at all.

      1. That is just what I was thinking. She just indirectly mocked them and that is not nice at all.

  5. Too bad I had a night class or I’d definitely snuck a peak at that wedding cause I’m only 15 mins away..

On a side note, I go to the same university/college as the one Aimee went to.

    1. College of Arts and Design? I think Aimee Chan took graphic design at OCAD.

  6. Free advertisement for dad’s restaurant, I am sure that was part of the reason that the banquet was held there, it will generate ppl’s curiosity to check out that restaurant and thus increase business for him, smart thinking!

    1. Or maybe it is the father’s wish to host his beloved daughter’s wedding ceremony and for convenience and the thought of knowing he can do the very best on the very special day for his daughter and son in law. If it is about publicity, his daughter can mention her father’s restaurant in in interviews.

  7. The narration is so funny. I can see they’re deeply in love, and how he constantly looked at her when she talked, she looked at him when he talked, rubbing shoulders, small kisses and all that. Certainly points to a loving couple.

  8. I don’t know what kind of a person Aimee Chan is. From the wedding gown and dresses that she wore at her wedding day and wedding banquet, she looks like she is a very simple person who likes simple clothes. She did not even bother to wear any jewellery or luxurious and fancy clothes. However, she still looked very pretty and elegant in her simple clothes. Moses Chan is very lucky to marry such a simple wife.

    1. I did not even notice that so thanks for pointing that out. But I think it depends since I can tell you that I am really simple and low maintenance but I would shine on my wedding day. Therefore, I really wonder why Aimee did not?? You really wonder if it is because she is simple or not.

  9. Really dun understand…why are all these celebrity always having premarital sex and get pregnant before they get married! Seriously, relationship cannot survive without sex?

  10. There are ALOT of people who are simple and nice but they dont ever get acknowledged. People put these two couples on too big of a pedestal. I dont think looks can tell how a person is. I agree with HeTieShou, looks just cant define a persons personality.
She probably just didnt wear a wedding dress because she is not really in a good position to wear one with her pregnancy and all. They are probably past that stage in their relationship.

  11. I personally think that the entertainment industry is full of alot of hidden secrets. We cant judge by the cover of what we see.
