Moses Chan Does Not Deny Aimee Chan is Pregnant

On June 11, Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan’s (陳茵媺) wedding was witnessed by family and several friends at the 800 year-old Chateau de Vincennes in Paris, France. The five-day, four-night celebration had a reported cost of $3 million HKD. Moses returned back to Hong Kong today, while Aimee flew to Canada to stay with her parents. At the airport, Moses was all smiles and did not deny that Aimee is pregnant.

Hush on Baby Rumors

Flocked by reporters, Moses proudly flashed his wedding band. “Our story is very beautiful; she is my queen.” Moses said that he spent a long time planning their wedding in France, which is of great significance to them since their love story began there.

Asked if Aimee is resting in Toronto due to her pregnancy, Moses laughed nervously. “I’m very happy, but I cannot talk about the other [news] yet. Ssshhh!” Prompted that he can take a honeymoon with the family of three, Moses laughed, “That’s not a honeymoon! A honeymoon should be between mommy and daddy. Many happy things happened all at once this year. Heaven has been very good to me; I’m very grateful.” Moses declined to reveal where they will go for their honeymoon.

In the next few months, Aimee will be resting in Toronto, Canada. Moses, on the other hand, will remain in Hong Kong due to work.  Moses said that Aimee will return to Hong Kong later, but he did not specify when.

Despite his previous business failure in Malaysia, Moses has not given up on his dreams to open a new coffee shop, in which he will give half of his new business shares to Aimee. They will open their coffee shop in Central’s Lyndhurst Terrace or Causeway Bay. Moses said, “At the beginning of last year, I started planning it. I thought at the end of this year, it would be ready. But too many things happened, so I have to postpone it a bit.”

Will Aimee be helping Moses manage his coffee business? Moses said, “I can do the strenuous work; she can rest. If she can handle it, I believe she can be a mom and an artist.”

TVB to Arrange Hong Kong Wedding Celebration?

Moses is reportedly negotiating for a contract renewal with TVB. The 42-year-old actor had openly expressed earlier that he was not very interested in extending his management contract, but Apple Daily reported that Moses, in hopes to earn more “milk money,” has finally agreed to work for TVB, under the condition that he will be able to work in mainland China.

Apple Daily further reported that TVB still has plans to air an exclusive broadcast of Moses and Aimee’s extended wedding, although the couple had rejected the offer earlier. It is said that TVB has already booked a five-star hotel for Moses and Aimee to hold a Hong Kong celebration, which would be held in August.

  1. What is the rush for tabloids to know and publicize if Aimee is pregnant or not? Either Moses or Aimee will announce the news in due time?

    1. EXACTLY…something that I dont understand. It;s not like she would be able to hide anything in the long run anyway-so what the hell is up with the media being so rushed to find out if Aimee is preggo or not? (which obviously seems like she is). Even if they do find out through the rush of things, everyone saw it coming/expected, so being the ‘first’ to ‘reveal’ this open secret wouldnt be such a flashy-wow headline either. The media is just tripping over themselves for no reason imo lol.

  2. Media got it right this time. Double congratulations to Moses and Aimee!

  3. Just out of curiosity, I thought getting pragnant before marriage is taboo in Hong Kong. Is it a socially acceptable in the Hong Kong social now? I know we are all congratulating them online but I don’t live in Hong Kong so I don’t know how what the real life perception is regarding their pregnancy. Care to share?

      1. @Michael,
My cousin lives in HK, she says HK ppl are quite open, they don’t care much these days. In fact, they will rather hear ppl living together than staying single or they will call them ‘leftovers’.
and this couple lived together before marriage as well so who cares really these days? Remember Shirley Yeung, she lived together w/this not famous dude and her family for almost 10 years n had a baby girl out of wedlock? They don’t care anymore i feel which nowadays it seems to be acceptable everywhere which i am not judging but goodiness is certainly not as valued as the older days.

      2. It’s okay, Michael has been living under a rock, we can’t blame him.

      1. Micheal has a point since I think there are many that are still traditional and don’t like it when people are pregnant before marriage. My parents are like that. They are so traditional that it scares me. My late father once said that he got bad luck because he went to a wedding where the bride was already pregnant. My brothers and I were like “WHAT? You believe in that BS??” My mom really looks down on anyone who is pregnant and has baby in wedlock. I guess if you are anywhere where there are traditional folks, then you are bound to face criticism if you are pregnant before marriage.

      2. My cousin’s friend had a baby out of wedlock. The baby gets mom’s last name (following “illegitimate” rules). 🙂

    1. Following on from what @dd said- yes, some ppl dont even get married once pregnant and a kid is born. Take Griselda/Lenna Yeung for example (Tavia’s sister). Lenna was pregnant before marriage. Her daughter is now 5 or something and she only had just officially married end of last yr I believe.

although no longer seen as a taboo, I think ppl just try to follow the custom tradition but isnt as heavily regarded as decades ago.

    2. As far as I know, Hong Kong society is more accustomed to babies being conceived outside of marriage nowadays, although the said babies are expected to be actually born in wedlock. Most people wish for their children to be legitimate, after all.

      1. Well, that depends. Back to my cousin’s friend, mom is a successful career woman making good money. The father (wanting the best of both worlds) still expects the mom to do EVERYTHING (work, cook, clean, childcare, etc.) so she chose to give the baby her last name instead of marriage. The father’s side is jumping up and down, especially since it’s a boy. LOL 🙂

Maybe this is the Asian version of Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick?

Marriage aside, maybe the tradition of giving the baby the father’s last name no longer makes sense (especially if women are doing the lion’s share of the work)? Hmmm…

  4. i wish them well..but somehow they just don’t gel as a couple…

    1. I thought couples were people, and not some hair product.

  5. moses looks like a horse with his horse teeth. lol

    1. I know, he’s always been quite ugly the only attraction w/him has always been his height nothing else.

  6. Is so obvious that Aimee is confirmed pregnant with Moses laughing and sunshine smiles on his face that clearly written on his face.

  7. Did Moses and Aimee meet in France??? Otherwise why did Moses say that their love story began there??

  8. there’s been quite a few celeb couples who got married after getting pregnant. i’m curious to know whether their contraceptives failed, they never used any protection or they intended to conceive. it’s like the number one reason to get married in hk is the woman is pregnant (i know 2 couples personally who got married only after getting pregnant).

    1. Regardless if she pregnant or not! I remember I watch a interview last year where Moses already state that he wanted to marry Aimee.

      1. Its not that he is marrying her because she is pregnant but just speeded up the process. The most important thing that they love each other.

  9. Moses is not handsome, but seems like a very nice guy.

    1. There is way more to a person rather than just looks.

      1. Agreed, the more I hear/know about Moses, the better he looks (if you know what I mean).

So far, Moses seems like a “responsible” man of good character (好男人).

      2. Moses Chan never had that many rumours with women, especially in the entertainment circle, ever since he joined TVB. He only had some love affairs with Bernice Liu and he dated Aimee Chan after the breakup with Bernice. He seems to me a very conservative and responsible man. I think he will be a good husband.

      3. He actually did have a few more rumours-earlier on in his career. I remember he was rumoured with Flora Chan and other fadans back in their generation.

      4. Sorry, if he was responsible, Aimee would not be expecting until after marriage. The only reason this is accepted is because they are adults and not teens. If they were teens, the “male” would be thought of as irresponsible. It just seem like the marriage was rushed. I doubt they planned this. It was an accident which ended in a “rush” marriage. Anyways, Congrats to them!

      5. Oh come on! Aimee is a big girl, she knows what she is doing. And the wedding which may be rushed looks well prepared.

  10. does this mean that Aimee will retire from acting.
    *fingers crossed*

  11. Dear Moses,

The ring looks a bit too tight. Good bye to your bachelorhood, welcome to work harder, your wife and child needs food and shelter!
