Moses Chan: “I Can’t Collapse; My Family Needs Me!”

Becoming a father to two boys within two years, Moses Chan (陳豪) has changed his personality and outlook on life. He has shifted his priorities from his career to a proud father who prizes his family above all else. To Moses, fatherhood has been the greatest joy in his life.

Marrying Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) in 2013, their first son Aiden Joshua was born in December that year. Their second baby Nathan Lucas arrived in February 2015. Moses shared his thoughts on having a new infant in his life, “The baby requires constant care and feeding every two to three hours, which means I wake up at the same time. I haven’t been able to sleep for three hours straight in a while. I’m so sleep-deprived that I could fall asleep within five minutes anytime. I try to get up when my wife gets up for breastfeeding, and support her in other ways, such as burping the baby after she’s done. It’s so important that we go through this together as a couple.”

Moses sees himself as the head of the household, and has learned to be more responsible. He said, “I can’t afford to collapse, as the family needs me!” He has become more thrifty with his own expenses so he can save more for the family and his sons’ education.

Parenthood has only brought Moses and Aimee closer. Moses said, “She’s amazing! I was expecting her to be very moody during pregnancy, but she never once took it out on me! She was always so calm.” On whether he wants to have more children, Moses immediately expressed his desire for a daughter. He laughed, “I’ve been trying to persuade Aimee by telling her that the more children she gives birth to, the fitter she becomes!”

As Moses’ father passed away at an early age, Moses grew up lacking a father figure. This motivated Moses to try his best to be a role model to his children. He emphasizes thinking positively and making decisions independently. Ultimately, Moses hopes to strike the right balance between doting on his children and disciplining them.

  1. Still young so can try for at least 2 or 3 more. I believe Moses has matured in terms of finances.

  2. Moses Chan seems to be an excellent husband and father. Aimee is super lucky to marry him.

  3. His baby is not the only baby in the world who needs constant care and feeding every 2-3 hours. He is not the only father in the world who is sleep deprived, nor his wife.

Every NEW parents go through it.

Perhaps it’s just me, but the quotes from the article simply rubs me the wrong way.
