Myolie Wu Wins Best Actress at the Chinese American Film Festival

Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) is still an acting force after leaving TVB.

At the twelfth annual Chinese American Film Festival held in Los Angeles earlier this week, Myolie won the festival’s Best Actress award for her performance in the Chinese drama My Stepfather is a Hero <繼父是偶像>. It is Myolie’s third Best Actress trophy of her career. Her first Best Actress award was at the TVB Anniversary Awards in 2011. Her second was in 2012 at China’s Huading Awards.

My Stepfather is a Hero stars Lin Yongjian (林永健) as a widowed man with two stepchildren. Myolie plays a lawyer and Lin’s love interest. The 30-episode series, shot in 2015, has yet to air in China.

Myolie thanked her fans for the support on social media, writing, “I’m truly happy and honored. This is my first awards ceremony and award outside of Asia. It is really a huge encouragement for me. Thank you to all the judges and the cast and crew of our show, especially to my great senior and partner, Teacher Lin Yongjian. Thank you for your encouragement. I will continue to work hard!”
