Netizens Impressed with Sisley Choi’s Improvement in “Presumed Accidents”

TVB’s latest suspense drama Presumed Accidents <純熟意外> is off to a great start. Headlined by veteran actor Lawrence Ng (吳啟華), the drama about investigating insurance claims premiered on Monday to 25 points, reaching 1.62 million viewers.

Presumed Accidents was met with hesitance at first. Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), who costars in the series along with Selena Li (李施嬅), Lai Lok-yi (黎諾懿), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), and Joyce Tang (滕麗名), rounded up poor critical reviews when she delivered a less-than-stellar lead performance in last year’s Young Charioteers <衝線>. In addition to Presumed Accidents being her third drama of 2016, netizens said Sisley’s exposure could be overkill.

However, many netizens were pleasantly surprised with Sisley’s performance in Presumed Accidents. After the broadcast of the first episode on Monday, quite a few netizens left some positive reviews for Sisley, noting her obvious acting improvement.

One netizen remarked positively, “Honestly, the first episode was not bad at all. I also feel that Sisley Choi’s acting has improved, and I think this drama is worth a chase. Hopefully it’ll continue to do well.”

Another netizen pointed out that Sisley has showed steady improvement after Speed of Life <鐵馬戰車> and Fashion War <潮流教主>, both which have aired this year. With three features in one year, it is very likely that Sisley would win this year’s Most Improved Female Artist award.

Not surprised by this, I thought her acting was a bit better in Keeper of Darkness movie, so I guess this series was filmed after Keeper of Darkness was out.

my husband asked tonight at dinner if she was the lead. i said yes, then he went on and said, there’s really nobody left at tvb la?!

btw, anyone know what lawrence’s character is about? he seems so mysterious and sounds like he’s been living for a very long time? another undead man?

Sisley has definitely improved, or at least a lot more tolerable than she was in Speed of Life and Fashion War. She would be a good contender for Most Improved at the tvb awards this year and wouldn’t surprise me if she won (if not Tracy Chu). At least then her win wouldn’t be a fraud like Grace Chan’s was.

Look at the picture above. Shows the obvious; one trying too hard and one looking like he just try enough will do. If I just look at LAwrence I would have thought he was having a run around in a happy mood and if I look at Sisley alone I would have thought that must have been a life or death situation and looking at the entire picture and I am glad I skipped this to watch Roots 2016 and frankly I’d rather watch Nirvana In Fire’s repeat episodes than this one. I saw 5 min of it with cutesy music and I just changed channel and rather watch Kunta Kinte being tortured. I find there is hope in Kunta Kinte’s hopelessness than hope in Sisley/Lawrence’s hopeless pairing.

@funnlim of course it’s a life death threatening situation! Sisley almost got killed in this scene , if you see that then she’s doing her job!

@cutie666 yup exactly what I was gonna say. Apparently she didn’t lie, she didn’t watch the drama lol. Some people are just very quick at judging without even knowing what’s going on.

What find shocking is that she is the lead of this series instead of Selena unbelievable smh………

Haha. Sisley’s acting actually quite good here. Does not have the irritating feels. And even with wide age gap, they do look somehow compatible. She and Tracy have high chance of getting awards. Both are deserving.

selena is not even out. sisley has improved…she doesn’t yell. looks wise, she is better than grace. but pairing her with lawrence is rather like father and daughter.

Personally I disfavour Sisley she is like Grace Chan very artificial and exergerated in acting, can’t stand them. Cannot understand why TVB promote them so fast

@elcmei there are not many young female artistes around…while i couldn’t stand sisley’s high pitch, she seems to have toned down for this drama. frankly i feel that sisley looks prettier than grace.

I didn’t find Sisley has improved so far..she still has no expressions on her face..in every scene..a long way to improve.

same expression…fortunately no more high pitch voice.
why is tvb pushing sisley and grace when there are actresses who are much better?

@janet72 Sisley is not speaking with her high pitch voice she is more like screaming when she first debuted in her first few dramas. Now she has learned to lower her voice that’s all.

lawrence looks great in a suit but other than that, why is he always dressed in long sleeve shirt, tie, vest and pants? it would be great if female artistes like Yoyo Mung returns.
tracy chu is not bad too.

Omg. Really have undead plot twist! Interesting! Now it makes sense for the wide age gap. It doesn’t matter anymore. Cos he is undead. Lol.
