Niki Chow Finds Clues in Garbage Pile; Matthew Ko Impresses Mandy Wong With Bowling Skills

Niki Chow (周麗淇) and Michael Tse (謝天華) filmed new TVB drama, Policewoman Love Battlefield <女警愛作戰> last night. The pair shot a scene in which they searched through a garbage pile looking for clues to aid an investigation.  Although the crew had cleaned the area prior to the filming of the scene, the air still smelled faintly of garbage.

Despite the Lunar New Year time frame, Niki and Michael did not mind digging through the garbage pile, joking that they pretended to treasure hunt. Prior to filming, Niki put on worker’s gloves to make fun of Michael, who was scared and tried to avoid her. The atmosphere was quite humorous.

Returning from Singapore after a performance, Michael appeared to be very tired. Michael said, “Well, it is hard to get fat during filming, unlike Niki who seems to have grown more plump!” Hearing Michael’s comment, Niki protested and said that was impossible!

Mandy Wong and Matthew Ko Film Dating Scene

Mandy Wong (黃智雯) and Matthew Ko (高鈞賢) filmed a dating scene at a bowling alley for Policewoman Love Battlefield yesterday. The pair jested with each other, resembling the onscreen lovers portrayed in the drama.  The athletic Matthew demonstrated bowling technique to Mandy, but ended up dropping the bowling ball on the floor, which was embarrassing.

Working with Matthew for the first time, Mandy praised him for being a top athlete. Mandy said, “In the drama, I am physically skilled, but it is the complete opposite in real life. Thus, [my action scenes] will be performed by a stuntman.  However, Matthew has knowledge in everything. It is quite miserable to have to film all the [action] scenes himself!”

  1. I guess TVB is giving Matthew Ko another chance! I remember seeing Matthew in his first big role years back (Man in Charge, with Kenneth Ma) and he wasn’t really good (the role itself was also very ambiguous and challenging for a newbie, IMO) – similar to Elaine Yiu’s performance in Safe Guards. But Elaine has improved loads since then, yet I haven’t seen that improvement in Matthew. Maybe he will prove me wrong in this one. 🙂

    1. I also hope to see improvement from Matthew Ko. After the first few big roles, all his subsequent roles are small roles. It’s hard to gauge his acting in such small roles. I see he acted quite well in FH3 and Super Snoop. Hope he can handle this bigger role well.

    2. Right now Matthew’s status is being surpassed by new siu sangs such as Him Law, Vincent Wong, Edwin Siu, Jason Chan who are already taking second lead roles. I want to see Matthew improve himself too.

  2. yayy finally get to see matthew in a bigger role rather than all the guest stars roles he has been in for the last 2-3 years!
    hope he does well 🙂

  3. Interesting to see tvb promoting Matthew, he’s cute and seems to fit a policeman role.

  4. Jaynestars; just so you know there is an error in the name, Niki Chow is not(鍾嘉欣)it is in fact Linda Chung, whereas Niki Chow, is (周麗淇) please note that error !

    1. Chrissy,
I had Linda’s Chinese name in my copy clipboard, thus pasted it incorrectly in Niki’s article. Will make the correction.

  5. I’m excited to see the Matthew and Mandy pairing. Finally some fresh pairings! They seem to have some good onscreen chemistry looking at the photos.
