In TVB’s new series, L’Escargot < 缺宅男女>, Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) portrayed a lazy truck driver. His hateful character successfully captured the public’s interest. In real life, it turned out that Oscar was once a wild youth, guilty of rebellious behavior. He admitted that he tried to steal money from his tutor and was arrested by the police for fighting with friends.
However, Oscar has turned over a new leaf in life. Yesterday, Oscar was invited to speak before a group of delinquent youths. Aside from speaking about his own experiences, Oscar urged the youths to remain positive. Oscar was extremely happy to be able to participate in the speaker event. Oscar indicated, “I know that this group of kids really wanted to meet me, so I asked TVB to allow me time to visit them.”
Oscar Leung Intends to Get Married in 2012
According to Wow TV, 32-year-old Oscar Leung intended to get married with his girlfriend of 9 years, Tina, in 2012. A popular supporting character, Oscar often filmed 6 dramas in one year. Despite this, his salary was estimated to be only $20,000 HKD per month. Due to his meager pay, Oscar moonlighted as a part-time cashier at his cousin’s restaurant when he had no acting work, in order to save money to fulfill his marriage dreams and buy a house.
Oscar possessed a large number of friends in the entertainment industry, such as Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Aaron Kwok (郭富城). Realizing Oscar’s financial situation may not be strong, his good friends offered to pay for his wedding banquet fees if he wished to get married> However, Oscar noted that it was best for him to save money and pay for his own wedding instead.

I really like Oscar! I definitely think this is going to be his break out year. He has L’escargot, the Roger/Fala/Sharon series will also be airing in Feb., he plays the emperor in The Big Eunuch, and Flying Tigers. I think he might surprise people the most in Flying Tigers because I did not expect him to have such a good body, and they probably had him show it off there.
Come to think of it, L’escargot is currently airing. He has five series which will be aired later: Queens Of Diamonds And Hearts, Flying Tigers, The Dazzling Dance of Chang’an, The Great Eunuch, Policewoman’s Love Battlefield (guest star). That’s… a lot. Hope more audience will recognize his works by then.
I hope his characters in the upcoming series are back to his usual funny, charming self. His “kwan 2 gor” role in L’escargot is a drag, like those ‘don’t die, still useless’ people.

He looks familiar but don’t really notice him in series. Can someone name some of the other roles in series that he has been in?? That is SOO sweet of his friends to offer to pay for his wedding banquet and all if he wanted to get married. I did not know that he was great friends with Aarin Kwok and Chilam. Good to know that and may he fulfill his dreams as well as get to play leading roles.
Last year’s series that he appeared in: Grace Under Fire & Wax and Wane. Those two roles are really cute, which made some audience noticed him more.

Oscar is friends with alot of goodlooking guys. He’s also really good friends with Eric Suen! They even had an interview together before! And it was so funny how they were comparing each other’s sixpack and who was more fit so funny!
Oscar is cute in a baby-faced way. I like his looks but perhaps it’s also what’s hindering him. I can say that he provided a pleasant sight and acting.
He has potential and hopes for TVBs own sake they promote him otherwise he should leave the sinking ship as well.

Oscar and Fred have always been consistent actors but have never been given the chance and promotion unfortunately.

In another article I read about Oscar, it was stated that he is currently living in a 500 square feet apartment with his parents and girlfriend, Tina. Space is definitely cramped in Hong Kong.
Again, I think it is a matter of time before Oscar’s prominence in larger roles will rise. He already has a lot of support for his acting skills. Hopefully “Big Eunuch” will offer him lots of screen time opposite Michelle Yim and increase his recognition levels.

The funny thing is, before he joined TVB, he used to be leads in movies (two of them, I think.) AND he sang a sub song for one of the movie. Now it’s all supporting roles =[ …. he just need to work harder! =D

Hey, I’ve seen him during my visit to HK 2 years ago. I was waiting for a cab in Kowloon and he was standing a few feet away. Didn’t know who he was at that time. He was chatting with 6-7 young girls – they were from his fan club and he was there for a private meet-up. I pulled one of the girls aside and asked, “who is he ah?” hee hee..!Only start to notice him on tv thereon. He seemed like a nice guy. Rather petite though.
