Oscar Leung Counter-Sues Kenny Wee for Abusing Judicial System

The legal tussle between Kenny Wee (黃浩) and Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) took on a new development as the latter counter-sued Kenny for abuse of the judicial system and caused him to lose a film contract that is worth more than $1 million HKD. More details have emerged over Oscar’s recriminatory charges he is pressing against the restaurant owner.

The yo-yo legal battle arose from Eric Tsang’s (曾志偉) reported slapping of Kenny Wee last December. When Kenny pressed charges against Eric Tsang for physical assault, Oscar had defended Eric and said Kenny possessed  “persecutory delusions.” This infuriated Kenny who gave Oscar the ultimatum to either apologize or be sued. Oscar refused to apologize, and Kenny fulfilled his “promise” and sued Oscar for defamation.

It was a double wham for Oscar when Young and Dangerous: Reloaded<古惑仔:江湖新秩序> producer, Wong Jing (王晶) withdrew his offer of a 10-film contract to Oscar because of the lawsuit.

Eye For an Eye

As a consequence, Oscar went to the High Court on Monday and made a recriminatory charge against Kenny.

In the legal document filed by Oscar, he stated that his own actions did not cause Kenny to incur any loss, and that being the case, Kenny’s complaint against him was thus groundless and should be refuted. On the other hand, Kenny had abused the judicial system to cause a scene, knowing very well that the legal entanglement would hurt Oscar’s career. On top of that, Oscar’s freedom of speech and his right to speak about public matters was also unnecessarily stifled.

It was also disclosed that because the lawsuit caused Oscar to lose a film contract valued at a 7-figure sum, he is filing compensatory damages from Kenny. However, the exact compensation sum was not written in the document.

  1. Defamation is about reputation not economic loss. Freedom of speech does not mean you can defame others.

    1. Bad reputation leads to economic loss. Who wants to do business with a delusional man?

Moreover he can say goodbye to his plan to take his business public!

  2. Oscar Leung has a bad lawyer if they proceed with this lawsuit. He has a typical lawyer if his lawyer just wants to bring the suit to gauge whether Kenny Wee can be intimidated into dropping the real lawsuit against Oscar Leung. Over this minor matter, both sides can spend a lot of money to ultimately see that Oscar was in the wrong. Oscar should have apologized. I’m curious what the TVB legal counsel budget is for Oscar Leung since they have said that they will represent him in addition to Ah Lek offering him to LEND him the money to cover his legal fees. Oscar is both nasty and dumb. It would be a pity if Kenny Wee didn’t go forward with the lawsuit because that really would be used against him. They want to force him to be wise and save money so that he will look bad and they can crow about how he was always a liar when in fact, he never said anything – so in that sense, they are bankrolling Oscar Leung.

And if a lot of people on TVB’s roster will be affected if the drug source is revealed, then Ah Lek and Eric Tsang’s influence on the new TVB authority will be leveraged to the hilt.

We have a drug case here and it involve the HO daughter and old guard entertainers.

  3. Oscar if you don’t want to be sued then don’t abuse the right of freedom of speech and defame others.

  4. Im expecting the HK court to throw the boot-licker’s case out bc his case just doesn’t make any sense.

    1. if his case doesn’t make any sense, how does kenny wee makes any sense?

at least oscar can show he had real financial loss because of this. kenny wee didn’t.

      1. its just fake that wj witdrawn a 1 million contract due to this,wj said that because he want to give oscar a reason to counter-sue K.W.

      2. Why doesn’t Oscar sue Wong Jing for emotional torture for showing up after the fact and claiming he INTENDED to enrich Oscar but changed his mind based on Oscar’s situation. I mean Wong Jing is Wong Jing – the guy is notoriously a bastard. He says whatever he wants because his movies don’t need stars to make money – the current cast of Young and Dangerous shows that. He needs young photogenic flesh as cheap as possible and as discounted as possible – that’s his modus operandi.

      3. there’s no way Kenny Wee would advertise that his restaurant lost business recently especially since they were about to get a really big cash investment – that looks dead in the water now and I bet the headquarters want the matter cleaned up because it affects their brand name – it’s not fair that Hilary’s venom affected a business and staffers who probably are suffering fewer tips as patrons will avoid this place in case more Men in Black come looking for the shareholder.

  5. To bring this kind of counter suit is an abuse of the legal system in itself.

    How ridiculous?

  6. Got tired of this kind of news. There are too many in the last two weeks.

  7. Chinese Proverbs :-
“Fail to steal a chicken, which instead ate up your bait”.(Starting out to hurt others but ending up in being hurt)
    LOL 2 of them

  8. Wouldn’t it be better if Oscar just tried to get out of negative press as quickly as possible? Eye for and eye makes the whole world blind…

  9. TVB should definitely make a lawyer series and have a case like this in it with Oscar starring in the ‘victim’ role.

  10. Am I the only one that things that Oscar might have taken the heat for his “seniors”? Somehow the drug case has evolved into this? It’s so suspicious how the senior artists offered a “time frame” for Kenny to retract his statements. As for Oscar, everyone encouraged him and he didn’t take much time to countersue.

  11. I am afraid Oscar is the one having “persecutory delusions” from the facts I can see. I have lost my respect for Oscar.

    1. Actually, I’ve lost it for all these HK celeb who had injected themselves into this investigation/case with behavior that were borderlining witness intimidation and obstruction of justice.

I am surprised that the HK justice system have not issued a gag order on this case as to shut these morons up. It has become clearer and clearer that the HK legal system is not that far different than a kangaroo court.

    2. yeh, i think he’s been possessed by kwan ji gor’s soul and though he is the real judge the invincible god of war.lol

i think he have received more sympathy if he’s had apologized to K.W.,and put his ego away.

      1. Yeah, he will use that as his defense i.e he was possessed by a ghost and a god, LOL

  12. Ever wonder if the rest of the celebs placed him up on the table to test the water? That dumb is just getting dumber.

  13. Why would wj, just out of the blue, offered and withdrew the carrot, knowing pretty well ahead of Oscar’s lawsuit? This series of infighting had been going on well before his phantom offer. Is he so dumb and deaf and unaware of these hot news?

This sly fox is most likely out plotting a cunning conspiracy. KW’s lawyer will see through the veil.

  14. Oscar wanting to look good amongst his colleagues but instead hurting his reputation with the public.A lot of growing up to do.

    1. he may have acted knowing that Ah Lek and Eric Tsang are now in very deep with the new management at TVB which was not the case in the old days with the original owner.
