Phoebe Sin’s Family Likes Ruco Chan A Lot
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, but Phoebe Sin (單文柔) has to work and is not sure how she will celebrate with boyfriend Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) yet. “I don’t know what time I will finish working, so we didn’t make plans yet.”
When prompted that they can spend time visiting each other’s families during the Lunar New Year holiday, Phoebe said that Ruco will be busy with work. Asked if both of their families have already met, Phoebe admitted that they have. When asked what her family thinks of Ruco, Phoebe said, “They have a good impression of Ruco. They watched his dramas before and think he is a positive person and very cheerful.”
Phoebe will be hosting a new fashion program, This Week’s Trends <今期流行>, for TVB. Since she was a design major, Phoebe has her own distinct fashion sense. “I’ll follow my own interests to mix and match. I like comfortable styles, the color white, accessories, and also a bohemian feel. For this spring’s looks, I will pick floral dresses in light fabrics. Pairing with a leather jacket, it’s very convenient and gives a smart casual effect.”
Asked about Ruco’s launch of his own sunglasses brand last year, Phoebe was full of excitement. “I hope everyone can try to understand the concept behind the brand and feel its uniqueness. I know Ruco’s design inspiration was the Northern Lights and that he always wanted to see them in person.” Although the Northern Lights can be see in Iceland through March, the couple has been busy with work. Phoebe hopes they will have a chance to see it together when they are both free. “It’s pretty romantic to see the Northern Lights, especially to see it with someone you love.”

She always has verbal diarrhoea when asked about the guy who refuses to say a word about their relationship. She is always the eager beaver and Miss Know-All revealing everything just like Grace Chan. But of course she would want the whole world to know that she is Ruco’s gf. There seems to be a trend. Significantly younger, relatively new actress, dates much older actor, then “motorizes” about the relationship. E.g. This chick, Grace C, Jacqueline (whatever her name is- Kenneth’s gf). Then gets major supporting or lead roles in new series! Viola! You gotta wonder, why are they dating this much older guy eh? And they do go for the men who has been quite unsuccessful for their age to find a stable partner.

You are right about the not quite successful at their age…lol…I guess to them they are still consider SUCCESSFUL in TVB drama land? I can never understand Kenneth’s Ma’s popularity as to this day, I still find him to be so boring on screen I don’t know if it’s just his face in general or voice or just his same old expressions in any role he’s ever played. The girl is actually nice and cute probably same situations like ” liking these so called actors since they were really really young ” and now finally gets to date them in real life their prince charming? haha think Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. haha lol…

When Kenneth Ma first arrived on screen, it looked like he would be a poor extra who’s acting days were numbered. His face was a wreck with full of spots, his hair was longish and overall looked far from handsome. However he has developed into a good actor full of charisma especially in comedic roles. Unlike some of the other leads he seems more friendly when speaking to the media and less fake plus zero scandals. These are the reasons why he is quite popular.

It is an excellent idea for Phoebe Sin to tell the public and TVB that she is Ruco Chan’s girlfriend no matter it is true or not. Grace Chan got highly promoted after becoming Kevin Cheng’s girlfriend, and now even Jacqueline Wong got more promoted by TVB by being Kenneth Ma’s girlfriend. Phoebe has nothing to lose but will get promoted by TVB and the public.
I think more and more new actresses will take this route to get popular and promoted by TVB soon.

Won’t stop them earning though and they can easily move on to chase the next rich guy. Look at Shirley Yeung in the scandals of all scandals including blatant lying and still received sympathy. The men though have less to gain and if blamed can lose all popularity because of the negative the media in Hong Kong.
