Priscilla Wong Put on Bench by TVB
It seems that Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) has fallen from her heyday. Initially heavily promoted by TVB and taken under TVB management executive Sandy Yue‘s (余詠珊) wing, Priscilla could even openly date fellow entertainer Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) without any repercussions. Unfortunately, due to internal politics within TVB’s management, Sandy’s position and influence rapidly declined. This has negatively affected all the artistes Sandy supports, including Priscilla, who has not been given any significant work for five months.
Besides making a cameo appearance in drama Walk With You <陪着你走> and hosting the variety show, Chef Minor <我是小廚神>, Priscilla has not had any other work. Reportedly, even Edwin felt that something was amiss in Priscilla’s career, and pleaded with TVB management to revive Priscilla’s career.
Asked about the stall in her TVB career, Priscilla tried to give the impression that there was nothing to worry about. When asked if Edwin really pleaded on her behalf, Priscilla said, “That’s impossible. I was involved in five dramas the moment I joined TVB, so I also want a break now.”
Priscilla will not be featured in any drama promotional trailers shown at the TVB Sales Presentation, which will take place on December 4. Priscilla explained, ‘That’s because of the show changing its format. It’s now a compilation of excerpts from dramas that have been filmed. I will be involved in the related promotional activities next April.”

She shouldn’t even take the lead on many of the dramas. She can’t act. DAm tvb, always chooses the ones that “clean shoes” and not the ones that can actually act.

If Catherine Tsang would just go away from TVB, there would be better female talent at that company. Because of Catherine many actors are frozen just because they don’t do favors for her.
That can be said also of Sandy, people don’t get a good role because some people don’t do favors for her.
This power struggle is not new, this has happened even before Sandy got that job.

That’s what happens when you climb up too high with no qualities, taking things for granted, showing no respect, no ‘reliable’ people their guiding you on the right path, and being blinded by fame and money. This is the so-called short cut in life, typical for the entertainment industry… there are no short cut in life. You want to make it big, you work hard with a modest attitude to get up there.

also,how did she take shortcut? she worked as host at other stations for years.
J.C., it’s the background politics that caused Priscilla to be “frozen”. An actor can work hard to improve but if management haven’t seen he/she do enough favors then they will not be promoted.
It’s an inevitable fact of life that those with connections always get more opportunities, whether they’re deserving or not.

Almost all the famous TVB actors are nowadays working in Mainland China.
Now, the current TVB lead actors and actresses are usually the people who does not have much acting experience (for example, new Miss HK and Miss International contestants), so of course there can be critisim about their acting.
Fortunately, we still have TV-drama’s and shows from HKTV to watch this year and next year, so at least we have more choice which TV-series to choose from. That is the benefit of more TV channels.
Feel very sorry for Priscilla Wong and hope to see her more on tv more often to film on tv films!!!! 😉

Agree.She did a good job in STL.She’s a great host too.I don’t get all the hate towards her.I rather see more of her on screen than those wooden miss HKs.
Not one of my favourites but I still prefer her over the likes Grace Chan and Sisley Choi. Of all the recent Miss HK, only Tracy Chu has proven that she can act.
i actually feel sorry for them,tvb puts them in series way too early with no acting experience whatsoever.
Pris is easier on the eyes than these Ms HKs. I didn’t think I’d miss her but looking at the new generation of fadans TVB is trying to ram down our throats, I miss Pris already.
I like Priscilla, though not a seasoned pro she is very genuine. Grace Chan from Vancouver on the other hand is very fake. She acts way too excites and enthusiastic on camera. I find it very hard to believe that someone can be that passionate over….food.

Grace is one helluva fake attention seeker trying to act all bubbly and friendly, such a turnoff. To think i used to root for her, sheesh! The more I see her, the more fake she looks.
I like Priscilla ! I loves her series karma rider & swipe tap love. I think she acts natural with the roles she has given. Acting wise she’s not Charmaine’s level but she can come far. I hope she will get more opportunities In the future!
Me too.but she is more pretty than charmaine.when i started watching karma rider,i found her very beautiful (that time i think she has been miss hk) and can act naturally (better than cucumber linda in ghost writer).i read linda become very popular with police drama and she also acted in ghost writer in newspapers .i expected her alot and she looked very beautiful in that picture and she is miss ……so i think she is beautiful . My opinion became wrong when i watch the drama .
I like Priscilla. She is a good host and also a quite good actress, especially considering how little experience she has. I prefer her over Eliza Sam, Christine Kuo, Sisley Choi etc.
Awww… I liked her. She has potential, like her performance in GPS and Swipe Tap Live. Very sincere performance and this is sad…

I don’t know if I dislike Aimee generally (or my perception of her) or her acting but she/her acting puts me off. I think she is popularly unpopular. Remember when she was 1 of the nominees for Best Actress one year. It just shows a new “terrible” to the level of politics that is in TVB.
As for Priscilla, despite the fact that she has strings pulled for her at the beginning, she has always come across as very pleasant. She is pleasing to the eye, natural, not annoying, …. She has not been tested but I think she may have potential …so it is sad to see her put down …guess that’s life …in TVB land.
To those who says she can’t act, PLEASE. She makes the most realistic characters EVER. So much better than Kate and Kinda, ima. Priscilla, I support you!

So, in the eyes of Edwin, she becomes valueless. They will very soon break out, I guess.
Should be the case but we don’t really know. We will know in due time, I guess, when events play themselves out …just like watching a drama
