Raymond Lam Goes Through Fire and Water for New MV

Raymond Lam (林峯) will be making a comeback next month with his first plug, “Heart Attack.” It has been three years since the singer’s last major music release. To repay his fans for the long wait between albums, Raymond stopped accepting new film offers after shooting The Door <六扇門> in order to dedicate all of his time to the new album.

This past summer, Raymond flew to South Korea to work with MV and CF director Jang Jae-hyuk (張宰赫) for the music video of “Heart Attack.” Raymond literally went through fire and water in order to perfectly capture the essence of the song, which is a powerful and intense dance number. The 35-year-old nearly burned himself when performing in front of a room full of fire. Raymond and his dancers nearly slipped while performing a dance in an artificial rain scene, but the five of them managed to complete the sequence in a few takes.

When doing another dance performance in a mirrored room, the crew had to temporarily halt filming in order to clear the broken glass on the dance floor.

“We danced until the glass broke,” Raymond said with a laugh. “Glass breaking on the fourteenth day of the Lunar seventh month (Ghost Festival).”

Although the MV shoot had been difficult, Raymond enjoyed the process and is impressed with the filming crew’s professionalism. “I’ve learned a lot. When I walked on the sets, I felt like I was shooting a movie. The lighting and the camera shots are amazing, especially after seeing the playback.”

The “Heart Attack” music video will premiere on December 1, 2015.
