Raymond Lam Has a Target Date for Marriage

After leaving TVB last year, Raymond Lam (林峯) focused his career development on music and officially signed under the management of EEG. Although Raymond continues to remain ambitious in his career, he confessed that he has also adopted a new outlook on life. Hoping to see most, if not all, of the world by the time he is 50 years old, Raymond intends to plan three vacations each year with [his girlfriend] Karena Ng (吳千語).

He happily expressed, “Right now, I really want to enrich my life. There are a lot of places I still want to go. I currently want to go to Eastern Europe most, because I really like their cultural background, folk customs, and ideologies.”

Despite the couple’s 14-year age gap. Karena is mature and her wise ideological thoughts have influenced Raymond immensely, allowing him to understand that there is more to life than just work. “She is definitely an ideal girlfriend. I am quite a boring person. She makes me more active and inspire me. Although she is a lot younger, she is instead the one teaching me a lot of things. She’s taught me that as long as two people are together, you only need to strap on a backpack and go traveling. You can go to a frozen lake and adventurously play, or go to different places and meet different types of people.”

Currently 36 years old and with an ideal partner in life, Raymond hopes to get married and have children. “I will get married one day. My goal is extremely simple. I hope that when my kids are ten years old, I will still have the energy to play with them. Even though I have my target time period, I will not tell [the public]!”

Since Raymond’s father Lam Wah Kwok (林華國) is a highly successful real estate developer, speculations often arise as to when Raymond will retire from the entertainment industry. However, Raymond stated that he is not interested in managing the family business in Xiamen. His younger brother, Rockefeller Lam (林逸洺), has also established his own venture outside of the family empire. Raymond said, “If I have a successful career path and do not follow it, it is such a waste. Although my family is traditional, they are also open-minded.”
