Raymond Lam Prioritizes Career Over Marriage

Attending a friend’s wedding in Malaysia, Raymond Lam (林峯) missed a few promotions for TVB drama Line Walker <使徒行者>. Raymond went back to work on September 14, when he was seen promoting the crime drama in Yau Tong.

Raymond attended his friend’s wedding with girlfriend Karena Ng (吳千語). There were reports indicating that after the bride and groom kissed, Raymond also kissed Karena. Raymond denied and said, “It’s not our first time attending a friend’s wedding.”

Asked if the sweet atmosphere of his friend’s wedding gave Raymond the impulse to get married soon, Raymond admitted, “If the time is right I will enter my second stage in life. However, I’ll plan for it carefully. I won’t have a flash marriage. Right now, I’m focused on my work. My career is more important at the moment.”

Recently, there have been rumors that TVB laid off many employees and reduced the salaries of many artistes. Raymond seemed to have left the station in time. “No!” said Raymond. “Even so, I wouldn’t have gotten laid off. I’ve been with the company for over ten years and TVB had treated me well.”

What are Raymond’s thoughts if the rumor turns out to be true? “Each company has its own policy. As an actor, it’s not in my position to be involved. The only thing I can do is focus on my own work.” Nonetheless, Raymond said he noticed many new staff members over the past few years, but he is not worried for the older staff members. “They’ve been working in the company for over ten years. Their experience in the field cannot be replaced.”

Samantha Ko (高海寧) said she has never heard of the rumor of TVB laying off employees or reducing the salaries of artistes. Possessing a long contract with TVB, Samantha said, “I have confidence that the company will raise it. I was offered a lot more jobs. I don’t need to have a sexy image anymore.”

    1. Like many Jayne readers have pointed out, both are dating each other for one reason or another.

Gold digger wants the cash from uncle Ray. Uncle Ray in exchange receives face in front of his family/friends by essentially showing off her in dinner events.

It’s also a way for him to show off his wealth to he public – through numerous trips to Japan, USA, Milan, France, and now Malaysia and Singapore.

    2. BTW- his house is a Hermes and mini- IFC mall, full of exotic and luxury brands that he bought with his gold digger. I’m sure his gold digger’s house is full of exotic brands too.

One thing I am grateful they are doing is donating their clothes after wearing them. Even if they don’t donate to the charity, at least they can give it to their friends. They are not as lavishing and fortunate as they are LOL.

  1. Guess it’s why LF left as the article says reduced salaries and many artist got laid off guess he was one of the artist

      1. You know LF is a rich heir right?
If he ain’t rich, how else could have have got so much money to pay for all the plastic on his face?

      2. I know his rich and popular but those must be some reason why he left tvb

      3. Re Meg:

His girlfriend is a gold digger called Karena Ng. Ever since they started dating, the backlash received from the HK media, fans, and Jaynestar readers has been enormous.

You may want to read more of his or her articles on Jaynestars. But let me warn you, they’re very annoying.

      4. She’s not a gold digger.. If she was raymond would have dumped her a long time ago… I’m talking about why raymond left tvb… Cos the main reason 620 and tvb was ripping raymond off

      5. @lol

Do you realize he has a lot of cash?? It’s not like she wants to buy a building in HK Island.

Uncle Ray can always film more China dramas at a apparent 500k RMB per episode LMAO. He’ll just need to Chok some eyes and the Chinese will hand him enormous amount of money.

He’ll just hand that over to gold digger Ng then lol

    1. He has to wait for Karena to be more mature and ready but at the same time he’s becoming older and older buy it’s ok I think he’s used to plastic surgery or facial repairs.

  2. Not surprised he said this.

Even though 2 years has passed, majority of his fans and the HK media has not accepted or supported their relationship.

The faster he is trying to get married, the more backlash he will received haha.

    1. true fans will accept his choice and respect that. only obsessed fans or haters like you will not accept his choice and talk negatively.

      1. LMAO!!

If you believe my comments are bad, go to her weibo. My friend says (and I see them too), she receives tons of hate messages everyday. I’m not the only hater around ROFL.

  3. And quite frankly, they’ll like partying every day and shopping like a married couple right now. Does it matter if they sign the papers or not LMAO??

I’m just praying they can move to China ASAP so I don’t have to hear from them. Just film your China dramas day and night and stay in the Beijing malls to buy your Hermes and Chanel and Gucci and everything made from China.

  4. I think he is diverting attention. Boom! Suddenly married! Boom! Suddenly babies! Boom! Suddenly divorce!

    Or

    Boom! Suddenly parted ways!

    1. “reduced the salaries of many artistes. ”

Yeah like 3rd liners. Stars like Raymond will only get more. The ones who suffer are secondary actors and writers, etc. Hence the brain drain. Stars often rely on ads fee to earn lots and lots of money.

      1. Exactly. And quite frankly, he won’t get laid off or receive salary cuts because hmm, he’s not at TVB anymore LOL?

  5. A part was left out in this translation. He said he has completed 60 or 70 percent of the discussion for his new contract. He will announce the HK company he is going to sign with in the next few months.

It means he will stay in HK although he will still receive works in China. With his new contract, he will focus on movie and music.

Hence, this is the period for his preparation.
