Raymond Lam to Register Marriage with Karena Ng in China?
Madly in love with 20-year-old Karena Ng (吳千語), Raymond Lam (林峯) has been entertaining thoughts of marriage lately. He admitted to being a “better man” after meeting Karena and said he is seriously considering marriage. Although his parents are eager to see him married, Raymond’s father, Lam Kwok Wah (林國華), stipulated that the couple must register their marriage in China to protect Raymond’s inheritance.
Karena Will Not Benefit in Case of Divorce
As a wealthy real estate developer in Xiamen, Lam Kwok Wah is eager to protect the family’s assets. Mr. Lam initially did not approve of Raymond’s dating choice, but realized he could not stop Raymond from marrying Karena. An insider revealed, “After discussing with his lawyer, Mr. Lam said he would not oppose the marriage as long as it is registered in their hometown in Xiamen. On the surface, it is to bring honor to their ancestors. In actual fact, it is because Chinese marriage law states that the couple’s individual assets before marriage do not belong to the other party. In other words, if Raymond and Karena were to get divorced one day, she will not get Raymond’s inheritance. The most she will get is his earnings after marriage.”
Raymond’s Future
As Raymond’s TVB management contract will be expiring soon, his future remains unclear. There were rumors claiming that he may not continue his contract with TVB, but focus his career in China instead. Speculations also abound that Raymond may quit the entertainment industry and fulfill his promise to help manage the family business. To further convince his father about his marriage choice, Raymond may end up returning to Xiamen sooner than planned.
In a recent radio interview, Raymond was upbeat about his future with Karena. He revealed that Karena is his ideal marriage partner. “After knowing her, I have become happier and filled with positive energy. Now I’m very happy. I used to be naïve and did not know how to enjoy life outside of work. After meeting her, I became a better man. I want to clarify that my parents have always approved of my dating and urged me to get married. This is the first time I have my family’s support. I will seriously consider this matter.”
With their deep love for each other, it is a matter of time before the couple gets married. On Christmas Eve, Karena was spotted wearing a diamond ring at Chen Shiwei’s (陳仕偉) sixtieth birthday at the Grand Hyatt. When queried about the ring, Karena said, “Currently there are no marriage plans. But I don’t want to answer who the ring is from.”
Raymond was allegedly in such a hurry to marry Karena that he intends to fork out millions of dollars to buy over Karena’s contract from Raymond Wong’s (黃百鳴) company. However, Raymond Wong said, “There is definitely no such thing. Karena is still young and interested to work. No one mentioned anything about redeeming freedom. Our relationship is still very good.”

lol, yeah the HK media can be very overwhelming with all the ‘news bits’, but if the couple REALLY had the intentions to keep their relationship low key and out of the spotlight to the minimum, then the media wouldnt have so many opportunities to keep them in the news all the time. It’s not that simple in the entertainment industry…you’d be extremely surprised by how many artists’ go about seeking attention or keeping their profile high. In the end its just a vicious cycle, the media feeds off celebrities, while the celebrities feed off the media.
How to keep low profile when reporters stuck to them even to oversea such as Milan, Japan? I find the couple is keeping their mouths shut to the reporters regarding their life, it’s good enough. And at least they are quite healthy, dun do things like car shake to public.

Btw for the car shake incident (tavia and him, if I’m not wrong), is not low-profile, but I don’t think it’s intentional. It’s a one-off thing and they’re considered a low profile couple imo. I don’t think it’s for attention, their images took a nose dive after it.
Lolz, did you watch the full clip of 7 loves declaration? He actually chased by reporters to ask for him to announce his love to Karena, then he said: “I’ll say it the last time to comfort you guys and never again.”, then the 7 love declaration. After that, it’s true that he never said something like that anymore. He only explains for her to the bad reporters toward her.
Moses and Aimee are caught feeding each other in front of an opened window. They also know that the paps followed them but they still fed each other when the window was opened. If the ring is too exposure, the window incident is similar. Moses was caught to go to Aimee’s flats many times, too. You find the couple Moses-Aimee is low profile because the paps dun follow them tight after having new couples appeared. Until now, the couple LF-Karena is still the center of paps so they are followed everywhere. Wait for some more months until new couple appeared.
The car shake might be not intentioned but the press conference is definitely intentioned. And make it like an open secret is also intentioned. Moreover, doing thing like so in public (a car on street) is something too ridiculous.

It is different. Both Angelia & Brad already make lot of $$ and they are old enough to start family. So for them $$ is not the reason to look to each other
I know it’s different but for Raymond Lam, a prenup (if they have such thing in HK) is going to be useful/effective.

Smart father because love is blind. This relationship reminds me of my cousin and his wife. His wife got herself pregnant and kept forcing him to marry her and bring her to the USA. Got married and kept begging to buy an expensive home. Obviously she married my cousin because his father is filthy rich. Unfortunately, my dumb cousin married her and she basically runs his life right now. They purchased an expensive home and now she even brought her parents over the live in the US. I just saw their news on TV. She looks much younger on TV and not very eloquent. That is because she is so young. Anyway I almost laughed when she said she never had a holiday on her birthday as she was always working so she wished in 2014 to have a day off on her birthday for some holiday and I was thinking didn’t she have vacations on NOT HER BIRTHDAY days? And that money isn’t an issue as she had planned holidays like in Japan for Ray, like effort counts as much. Of course it does but I was thinking, who paid? Because if I have unlimited resource, believe me I could plan some majorly great vacation in Japan. And I doubt sightseeing is no. 1 on his itinerary. But I must admit, she is youthful and gives a fresh vibe. Not too bright, not too much scandal so the Lams can accept her. Also simplistic even if expensive because I see the way Ray was steering her left and right when confronted with paps at an event. He has the experience, she needs the exposure.
