Raymond Wong Hopes “Swipe Tap Love” Improves in Ratings

Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Eddie Kwan (關禮傑), and the rest of the cast of Swipe Tap Love <愛我請留言> went to the Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier to promote the drama on April 13. The event attracted a large group of fans, and the artistes engaged in small games and interacted closely with the audience.

In one game segment, a male fan of Raymond Wong boldly confessed his “feelings” to Raymond. The fan then immediately turned shy after his outburst and quietly added, “Raymond, add oil!” Raymond laughed and teased, “Wait, that’s it? Nothing else?” The male fan continued, “I hope you and Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) will end up together in the drama!”

Celine Yeung (楊鎧凝), the 5-year-old child star who portrays the daughter of Raymond and Elaine in the series, was absent at yesterday’s promotion. A tabloid magazine claimed that Celine almost fainted from the heat while doing a shower scene with Raymond, who clarified, “That’s not true. That scene was about me helping her take a bath. Because the studio was really cold, we purposely heated up the water so Celine would not catch a cold. Before filming, I tested the temperature of the water. She was in the water for about twenty minutes, and because of its warmth, her skin got a little red.” Elaine defended that the cast and the producer were very loving towards Celine.

With its low debut week of 24 points in viewership ratings, Raymond hopes the ratings will increase this week. “The drama focuses on the love stories of young couples, and I think the younger people would be able to relate to the series more. The company does want to produce different material so we can provide more fresh productions for the audience.

Elaine said she normally would not lurk on Internet forums to read netizen responses, but she did so for Swipe Tap Love. “I’ve seen a lot of positive comments so far, so I’m really happy.”

  1. If ROE has trouble with ratings and that is a fast paced series, then STL being sorta like a specialist sort of series will suffer in ratings. Doesn’t mean it is not good but it has its selective audience.

    1. “Doesn’t mean it’s not good, but it has it’s selective audience.” Agree with you on that!

    2. agree … actually i seem to like these “selective audience” dramas alot as compared to those that are commercially popular

  2. I love STL. It’s such a sweet, light hearted drama! Support!

  3. 關禮傑 looks very manly. lucky for him to have two drams showing at the same time.

    1. He’s in 3 series. He’s in ICAC too. Eddie sing pretty good.

I don’t like Elaine, she did a horrible job in the series. I’m happy she’s gone.

      1. Elaine is competent in her role. I feel it’s Kelly Fu who’s doing a terrible job with her role. She’s inconsistent and very annoying. It’s sad that her character did not have a father growing up. But with Kelly Fu’s acting , as hard as I try, don’t sympathize with her character one bit. And there was an article last year predicting Kelly as one of TVB’s future fadans. Yeah right (rolling my eyes), that’ll be the day.

  4. I always love watching Eddie since his early date. Glad he is back! Have not seen seen him for a long time.

    1. he was in ghetto justice, beauty at war, the two currently airing dramas.

    2. Love Eddie in this show. So quirky, yet so manly!

    3. Eddie had a pretty minor role in Ghetto Justice if I remember correctly. Not sure about Beauty at War since I have not seen that yet due to the negative reviews.

  5. Priscilla is really natural in her role, IMO. I love her chemistry with Raymond and Vincent.

  6. I am actually enjoying this series a lot. Maybe I’m the exact niche audience they were writing for; several of the scenarios have resounded rather strongly with me (ie, I have gone through the exact same thing before in a relationship). As a result, this series is less lighthearted… more weepy. But in a good way. Will keep watching!

  7. I secretly wish for Priscilla n Vincent together…..

  8. I love this serial… very good serial, IMHO

Priscilla is very pretty and brings a fresh breeze to the usual TVB boring stable of actresses…
    Vincent is cool…
Raymond is natural as a father..
    Elaine is beautiful..
    Eddie is funny as a old-fashioned uncle…
Kelly is accurately protrayed as a mainlander..

And the child, Celine and the dog, 009, are of course star attractions

  9. This drama is great…..for insomniacs. Guaranteed to work miracles for you within 5 to 10 mins. It makes Outbound Love look exciting in comparison. Raymond is boring to watch or listen to, I’d watch for Eddie as he’s supposed to be funny here but that’s not enough to make me want to sit through this snoozer.

  10. I’m enjoying SLT way more than ROE. Sadly the ratings prove TVB will rarely produce more light hearted series. I’m so tired of all the police series, especially the SDU type ones. It’s getting old.

  11. I love this series very much. the story line is very normal, nothing dramatic. the one thing it can really do is it touches one’s heart – that’s what I look out for in a good series 🙂

    1. Agree with you! This is the first series I’ve watched where there are no villains, family members fighting each other, people manipulating others, etc. It’s very relaxing and heartfelt. I just know that will miss this series when it ends.

  12. Raymond is hoping that the ratings would rise as the series is focused on the younger generation. Unfortunately, many of the younger folks are not home watching TV but rather studying at school/libraries, working (in restaurants, boutiques, shopping malls,and/or other small businesses), or out drinking, socializing etc. Mostly the older generation with steady 9-5 jobs or retired folks are at home during the series broadcast.

  13. I like the cast – but the story line itself, even my love for raymond and eddie couldn’t keep me watching.
