Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) possessed confidence in their currently aired TVB drama, L’Escargot <缺宅男女>. Although “Kwan Yi So” Mandy Wong (黃智雯)shot to popularity since the broadcast of the drama, Linda was not afraid of the spotlight being stolen, instead praising that Mandy had a lot of potential.
Among his recent series in the last few years, Ron admitted that L’Escargot was one of his top 3 favorite scripts. While growing up, Ron and his family had lived in a 400 square feet public housing apartment. Ron stated, “When I was a child, I slept in the living room. However, we lived happily together. I often kicked ball in the building hallways and played ping pong, unlike the children today who have the luxury to play video games.”
Upon the reporter’s comment that Ron was misconstrued as coming from a moderately well off family, Ron said nervously, “Of course not! Did you confuse me with someone else?” (Was it Raymond Lam 林峰?) “He grew up playing model toys!”
Indicating that his mother wished he would become a property owner soon and not have to pay rent, Ron said, “It would be best if I can live with my mother, so there is soup to drink after work, breakfast and lovingly-prepared lunchboxes to eat! For some time, my mother had to take care of my sisters’ kids and I felt very lonely. I had to rely on the maid and often ate instant noodles.” (Why don’t you get married!) “I have not yet reached an age suitable for marriage yet. I have to buy a house and earn enough money first!”

Jayne: I am quite surprised to learn that Ron is not already a property owner. He appears frequently at promotional events, performs in overseas mini-concerts, etc. Why can’t Ron afford to buy a house already?

Well leasing a nice car, even the Mercedes Benz that Ron drives, is not that expensive. No need to buy a car if he intends to switch models frequently.

I remember reading that Bosco’s 3 houses are small apartments in Sha Tin district (to collect rent), so they are not that expensive to mortgage. He mentioned in today’s news that he is interested in buying another house at the end of the year. From the sound of it, this may be a bigger, nicer house that he will be living in himself. I wonder if he will invite Myolie to move in together?

I think as you know in HK, even if you are really rich, the most that you can get is a nice 2 room apartment for the most part since there is not a lot of land… I don’t think that they can get a nice and big 2 story house with a front and back yard like in the US and Canada because there is just not enough land due to HK’s small size.
I am glad that Ron is honest about his early life and family background. I don’t think he needs to feel ashamed or anything since even Tony Leung and Andy Lau came really humble beginnings but look at them now???

Honestly, I find Ron’s acting chop in this series has improved. He seems to show more expression than his normal wooden face. Hopefully he will maintain his acting ability in his future series by concentrating more in his acting rather than playing too much of plastic doll.

I read in another article where Ron confessed that in his life, he never really tried to save up for a house cuz he was still young and didnt think much of it. He said that he enjoyed cars and spent money in that more. But now that’s his older and more mature, he wants to focus on buying a house and that you don’t need to change cars anymore cuz that not important anymore.
Also I feel like lots of single guys when theyre young like to focus on purchasing fancy dream cars. But once theyre older they focus more on house. Ppl usually start thinking of buying a house when they want to settle down and have a family. When ur young, you don’t really care where u live, it’s the ride that u drive which is important to them. Of course it’s just the life style you like. There are others who focus on saving up for a house and drive broken down cars too

I heard Mainland women who have some “beauty” in them (whether artificial or not) are expensive to maintain. Once you goes bankrupt, don’t ever wish to see them with u thru thick and thin cuz it happens to my friend who used to date mainland doll, she was all over him when he was a boss but one day once he goes bankrupt etc, she was no where to be found… vanish so fast!

That is so true. I have heard so many stories about those plastic dolls and how expensive they are to maintain. I guess guys will quickly find out of a girl is natural or not. Even a girl that is “natural” and did not have any plastic surgery, they use lots of expensive make up, skincare, clothing,etc…. Boy, an average joe would not be able to handle that…
House in HK is super-expensive and people even have to live in cage (I read on news and even saw this in Cold Blood Warm Heart – the scene where Adam Cheng looks for his future in law brother after Adam is released from jail). However, if this Ron cannot truly buy one, how many people can?

In terms of his status and popularity, he probably doesn’t get that much $$ for attending events compared to other ppl who came out the same time as him and already up there.
His attending events fee is $HK40k/function, compare with other ppl who come out at the same time with him, he isn’t the lowest or highest. FYI, TY only has 36k/function so his situation isn’t too pathetic, lol. You can see the price in one old Face magazine and it confirmed by 620 to be lacked out of Txb by an inside officer.
