Although 43-year-old Andy Hui Chi On and 38-year-old Sammi Cheng Sau Man have denied rumors that they were dating on recent occasions, a reporter spotted the pair on a dinner date at 4 PM yesterday. The pair dined at a restaurant in the Jordan district, sitting in a dimly-lit corner. Upon discovering reporters, Andy appeared embarrassed and had to take a sip of tea to steady himself. Sammi acted more generously and smiled happily at Andy.

Romantic sparks occurred between Sammi and Andy in 1991 when they collaborated on duet song, Do You Truly Have Me in Your Heart <其實你心裡有沒有我>. To protect both their careers, Sammi and Andy maintained an 11-year underground relationship before publicly revealing their relationship in 2001 at the Jade Solid Gold awards. When the pair broke up in 2004, many fans hoped that they would reunite again. Sammi acknowledged that she did not date anyone in the last few years. When Andy broke up with his ex-girlfriend, Michelle, last year, many people speculated that he would reunite with Sammi again.

When the reporter spotted Sammi and Andy at the restaurant, they were in the middle of a conversation. Spotting the reporter, Andy pointed his finger at Sammi and said, “The reporter is here for you!” Since their date was discovered, Andy’s face blushed. He picked up a cup of tea and repeatedly sipped it to steady himself. In that statement, she conveyed that although she thought about reuniting with Andy, they were had spent many years apart and have evolved as different people with different experiences.

In photos over the last few months, Sammi always seem to have puppy eyes for Andy. I do think that she wants to be back together with Andy and may have even initiated. Didn’t she buy him an iPad for his birthday earlier?
