Sharon Chan Rises in Popularity; to Open Bakery Shop
Last week, Sharon Chan (陳敏之) married her long-time boyfriend William Lui (雷偉信) in Bali. After a few days of relaxing, she quickly returned to Hong Kong to get back to work. The 35-year-old revealed that she will be opening a bakery shop in Hong Kong this month, and has invited good friend Sammy Leung (森美) to be the opening ceremony’s MC with Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) as her guest.
Sharon’s latest series Line Walker <使徒行者> aired its final episode on October 3. The crime thriller about police undercover agents, which also stars Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), and Raymond Lam (林峯), gained widespread popularity in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Sharon is very satisfied with the success of the series, which pushed her to consider starting a line of “undercover cookies” for her bakery shop.
“That idea is cute,” said Sharon. “I need to think about it! Recently, I’ve been very busy with my bakery shop. I’ve been tasting a lot of samples.”
Besides Oscar Leung, will she invite more of her Line Walker costars to the opening of her bakery? Sharon said, “I’ll definitely send out a message to the other undercover agents!”
Thanks to the success of Line Walker, Sharon’s popularity rose. She revealed that she has received many lucrative offers to make appearances at events. She also became one of the top twenty most-searched celebrities on a Mainland Chinese website.

As nice as it is to hear that she’s opening her own bakery, I agree with what you said. The success of LW has nothing to do with her role or acting in the series. She was just bland.

Patrick was ok. Sharon had the disadvantage of playing the “perfect” character and she is not an actress with the capabilities to pull off that sort of character thus she was worst except in dramatic acting dept, Raymond was the worst. Last 2 episodes were excruciating to watch in part because of him.
Patrick wasn’t an undercover. I heard the 6 UC’s earnings tripled in China after the success of Line Walker.
Sharon is the worst both in LW and in TUA although on that one she shares it with Kate Tsui.
I think Sharon worse than Raymond. Raymond is OTT mostly and too obviously acting. Sharon is just plainly can’t act. Patrick Tang is also bad.
Micahel Mou, Elena, Benz Hui however are superb! So is Charmsine who surprised me!

Yes Toby never improved. But she always gets roles in drama because her father is Tommy Leung 梁家树 (deputy-chief director of drama in TVB)

I notice there is a pattern. Christian girls tend to be the ones that sell their bodies harder. Sharon is a Christian. Chances are, if you see a girl on TV that address provocatively, she’s a Christian.

The headline was rather funny. Rises in popularity and so she opens a bakery shop. Neither has any connection with acting career with the other. But good for her. Hopefully she will be so busy with her shop she won’t return to filming as pretty useless waste of space characters any time soon.
Personally I don’t Sharon Chan acted well in any of her previous drama series. She always had to show her long legs and sexiness (if any).

Sharon can’t do sexy, it looks awkward. Compare Sharon to Anna in Line Walker, huge difference. Anna made people’s nose bleed.

I think Elena is popular amongst the viewers as she’s great.
But she’s just not “chosen” to be ‘groomed’ by TVB, as they prefer to groom younger actresses from pageants.

IF tbb gives Michael the best actor award i would jump for joy but i dont think so. I mean if tvb can give it to him why not Damien for SSSS for 2012 they are both great actors i cant believe tbb is soo blind and wastes the good actors i enjoy watching both of the actors series
