Sheren Tang Reveals Why She Hasn’t Filmed Dramas in Two Years

Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) made a guest appearance on Eugina Law’s (劉美娟) radio show recently, talking about life’s journeys and what they learned along the way. The two longtime friends have known each other for over 30 years.

“I worked hard and haven’t stopped working since my debut,” said Sheren, who made her first appearance in the 1985 TVB drama The Legend of the General Who Never Was <薛仁貴征東>. “After experiencing losses in real estate, I had to start all over again, and I continued to walk on. I’m tired. Why can’t I have a relaxing life?”

Sheren said she missed out a lot on life; many of her peers are already married with children. “I don’t even have a potential marriage partner. I need to chase back all the things I lost.” The 49-year-old actress admitted that she wants to get married, but will not consider having children.

“As an actress, I have a responsibility to perform and narrate life, yet my own life is so boring. This is unprofessional,” she said.

Asked if Sheren will put more time into dating, she laughed and said it is too stressful for artistes to date in Hong Kong. “I need to leave Hong Kong to do it. Those who care about me, please let me be!”

In a question and answer segment with listeners, Sheren shared that one of her most commonly asked questions from fans is when she would film television dramas again. Sheren’s last Hong Kong television drama was 2013’s Beauty at War <金枝慾孽貳>, which was shot in 2012. Her last project was the Mainland Chinese drama Beauty Maker <風雷急>, which was filmed last year.

Asked if she has accepted new television drama offers, Sheren said, “Not at the moment, but I may have a new project. It will not be a drama, but a film. However, it’s not confirmed. It’s considered to be a light job. I don’t want to work so hard all the time. I feel like an overworked ox, and it’s making me feel awful, haha!”

  1. I hope Sheren Tang will film something in Cantonese, either a drama series or movie.

Perhaps she can work for NowTV, if not TVB.

    1. @orchid123 Even if she works for HKTVE but she doesnt do the Cantonese dub for her parts when airing in HK, it wont be her real voice.

  2. I miss watching sheren in tvb. She’s such an awesome actress. Wish she stayed to film rosy business 3 aka no reserve. It just won’t be the same without her.

  3. I really like her, but if she’s losing her life in reality, I rather she be selfish for once. 🙂
