Shirley Yeung Sells Beer in Nightclub for Money
TVB provided Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) with fewer opportunities since becoming a single mother giving birth out of wedlock. Caught between two men, TVB actor Gregory Lee (李泳豪) and diver Andy Ng (吳帥), Shirley’s controversial love life shook tabloid headlines in 2011. In May 2014, Shirley left TVB after working there for 13 years. Earlier, she was spotted selling beer in a nightclub in Mainland China for quick money.
Shirley turned all efforts towards raising her two-year-old daughter Krystal. Despite working as a host for HK Cable TV and attending shows, Shirley reportedly still experienced financial struggles, due to the high price tag of raising a child in Hong Kong. Shirley has been traveling frequently to Mainland China for shows and endorsement deals while her mother looks after Krystal.
That night, Shirley sang songs enthusiastically while selling beer. Before long, a large crowd had gathered to snap photos of the former TVB actress. Shirley happily signed autographs and continued to sing energetically.
Busily interacting with her fans that night, Shirley proved to be extremely popular among the crowd. One of the nightclub workers spilled that the entire venue was booked. He exclaimed, “We’re not taking in any street customers tonight, because a boss has already reserved the entire place. The place is full!”

I have to totally agree with the above comments…….whoever translated or wrote this article is not competent enough with their written skills to properly relay the real situation…….She is not “really” out there selling beer in a bar….she was just a guest entertainer there.

Her daughter is the direct consequence of the wrong choices she made in life. No one to blame but herself.
True that her daughter is the result of the wrong choices she made in life but at least she is taking responsibility for her and I respect her for that. She could have aborted her and try to start anew and move onto a new relationship without a baby but she choose to have the baby and is working hard to raise her.

i thought she as a lot of close friends. how come none of them are helping her. and how come she left tvb?? she should come back and do some dramas again. although her acting isnt great. she is a lot better the new ones lol i enjoyed many of her dramas
She came back to TVB after delivered her baby, but was way underused. She had a few minor roles and a bunch of unpopular variety shows. I believe that was why she left TVB, she wasn’t making enough money.
Still about her??? She and her money problems. She should just sell one of her three properties and also manage the money spent on her daughter. It was reported that it’s in the millions.

I disagree with many posters about she should sell her properties. I think she should hold onto them until she can no longer work. She’s still young and able to find and perform jobs, so she should to make a living. If she sells her properties now, what can she rely on when she’s older where she can’t take any jobs anymore? So she needs to flaunt it while she still has it lol.
She has three proprieties. Get rid of two and make money. Her career has past peak. She has to survive.

Properties are good investment, she can rent them for money and the price of the properties would still raise up
even without renting, the properties would still eventually more and more pricy along the way
I think Shirley knows that she can make her ends meet without selling her properties. When she is really desperate, she will take the appropriate action (such as selling her properties). If she thinks she can still earn enough money to support her family, why can’t she keep her properties? She is not doing anything illegal or bad to make money right now.
@ Larry 3: Her acting career in TVB is probably “past peak.” She might have another peak or glorious moment outside TVB. We can’t predict the future. Or maybe when she does return to TVB, she’ll get her moment then. Look at Wayne Lai. Yes, she can make money from selling 2 of the 3 and helping out in the short term. However, keeping all 3 is good for long term investment. She has a kid now, she needs to think more on the long term. As @hotNcold said, properties usually appreciate over time. Also agree with @sandcherry that she’s not doing anything illegal or bad, or shameful, or hardship, so she should continue taking jobs to support her family.
Made bad choices but brave enough to take responsibility for her own actions. Did not choose easy way out of killing herself or aborting the bb. She deserves support and not condemnation.
