Stefan Wong’s Wedding Banquet in Hong Kong

Last August in France, Stefan Wong (黃長興) married his wife, Peggy. On March 16, 2013, the couple decided to hold a second wedding celebration in Hong Kong, arranging a 35-table banquet at the InterContinental Hong Kong hotel.

Stefan revealed that he spent a 7-digit-sum for the wedding. He and Peggy had been involved in an argument due to the long time they spent planning. From Stefan’s proposal in Canada, to their wedding in France, and now the wedding banquet in Hong Kong, the couple had put in a lot of effort to organize the events.

Stefan spoke of his bride, “Peggy will give me full face in front of others. When we go home, I will let her have her ways.”

Stefan’s Best Man was his younger brother, Francois Wong (黃長發). His groomsmen included Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Vincent Wong (王浩信), and Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪). Peggy had nine bridesmaids.

Stefan and Peggy both wore traditional Chinese clothing for the first half of the day. During the morning bridal games, Stefan sang love songs and the groomsmen had to wear white t-shirts with bikini prints along with a pair of underwear over their pants. It set off a comical atmosphere. For the bridesmaids’ lucky packet, the groomsmen gathered together foreign currency from South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia, which equated to $60,009 HKD, a lucky number that meant eternity together.

As a motorcycle lover, Stefan ordered 9 three-wheeled motorcycles, and rode together with Peggy around Tsim Sha Tsui in the morning of the wedding day. The groomsmen followed closely behind. Since Stefan and Peggy did not want to dishevel their hair, they did not wear helmets. According to Alex Fong (方中信), it was not against the law since the motorcycles have three wheels.

Guests who attended the wedding banquet included Stephen Chan (陳志雲), Lee Tim Shing (李添勝), Carlo Ng (吳家樂), Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), Timmy Hung (洪天明), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Evergreen Mak (麥長青), Jade Leung (梁琤), Bowie Wu (胡楓), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Maggie Shiu (邵美琪) and her boyfriend Vincent Sze (施祖男).

When Stefan and Peggy cut their wedding cake, they kissed a total of four times. “It was a lot of work, but it was happy. We can drop everything after our wedding. We vow to love each other,” Stefan said. He and Peggy both see each other as being perfect, and give each other 100 percent. In April, the couple will take their honeymoon in a small island in France, as well as Hawaii.

    1. Funn,
One in France, where Stefan’s family and childhood friends are, and one in Hong Kong where Peggy’s family and their friends are. I think it’s a reasonable arrangement.

The France wedding is more romantic while the Hong Kong one seems pretty standard fare.

  3. Congratulations! Wish them nothing but eternal happiness

  6. I wondered if they got the exchange rate right, cause if they collected the foreign currency prior to the date, it won’t be the same on the wedding day, n they can’t reach the lucky number :p n I’m going to get the number is a rounding :p

  7. Never heard of either of them but they look fantastic. I have never seen a guy rock a champagne colored suit before, it suits him very well. Best wished to both and they look stunning together, especially the motorcycle wedding photos.

  8. Stefan looks charming. ^^ Is he by any chance mixed with any French blood?

    1. No, I think he’s chinese but w/viet ancestors. Even their last names are in viet i think but here it says wong in the cantonese hk version. As far as i know, they probably immigrated to France at an early age but not mixed or anything.

      1. According his previous interview, he came from Teochew family. They have to write surname to Huynh when they immigrated to France due to bureaucracy issues, if not mistaken.

    1. Yeah, wife looks pretty and a great smile and groom is not half bad himself hahha…lol…
