Stephen Huynh Dating 63-Year-Old Woman for Money?

Mr. Hong Kong 2005 Finalist, Stephen Huynh (aka Wong Cheung Hing) is a third or fourth line supporting actor at TVB. Despite his mediocre career, his romantic rumors with women have been non-stop. Allegedly, he is currently dating 63-year-old Margaret Tsui Mei Kei, whose net worth is valued at $600 million (HKD). Stephen was spotted entering Margaret’s apartment recently.

Stephen and Margaret may have met in December 2009, when they were Latin dance partners at a televised charity event. On May 29th, Stephen and Margaret were dance partners at another charity event. During the group photo session, Stephen did not ask Margaret to join in. Margaret’s face noticeably soured.

To celebrate their successful May 29th dance performance at the charity event, Margaret spent $100,000 (HKD) and placed full-page ads on all the major Hong Kong newspapers such as Orientaldaily, the Sun, Appledaily, and Ming Pao. In the ad, there was a large photo of Margaret and a list of dance participants [from her dance studio]. In the ad, a photo featuring Margaret and Stephen’s dance performance from 2009 was also published. Printed in the ad was a tagline in which Margaret hinted that she was not afraid of rumors and will face them bravely.

Both Stephen and his younger brother, Mr. Hong Kong 2008 Francois Huynh (aka Wong Cheung Fat) are female magnets. Last year, Francois dated a shoe tycoon’s mistress, Karen. Francois found a job in restaurant management through the connections of his godmother, Christine.

Spending More Than He Earns

When it comes to women, Stephen has even greater finesse. Recently, his wealth increased significantly. He invested $500,000 (HKD) to open a French restaurant in Hong Kong. The restaurant’s name is “A La Maison” and is located on the same block as Margaret’s dance studio, “Dancin’ Jupiter.” Stephen’s father also started working as an executive within one of Margaret’s companies.

Stephen’s average monthly TVB salary is no more than $10,000 (HKD). Yet, he is currently renting an apartment for $50,000 (HKD) per month. In addition, he spent approximately $30,000 (HKD) on home renovations.

In response to romantic rumors with Margaret, Stephen said angrily, “You make me sound like a gigolo!”

Stephen’s Dating History- A Trend in Dating Increasingly Wealthy Women

2006- Stephen dated model, Bibi Leung Bo Yin. At one point, the pair lived together. They split when Stephen started dating Mandy Cho Man Lei in 2007.

2007- Stephen started dating Mandy Cho after meeting her on a dancing program. Allegedly, Mandy is from a wealthy background, since she lived in a multi-million dollar home.

2009- After Stephen met an older woman, he split from Mandy Cho. Allegedly, the older woman lived in a $50 million (HKD) independent house in Sai Kung. In 2009, reporters photographed Stephen and the older woman dating.

2009 to 2010-  Stephen is romantically linked to 63-year-old Margaret Tsui, who divorced three times. All of her past husbands were wealthy businessmen. She also has a keen eye in real estate investments. In the last ten years, she made $300 million (HKD) in profits. Margaret owns six companies, including jewelry, restaurants, and financial investment businesses.

Jayne: Based on TVB’s cheap salary, it is questionable as to where Stephen’s $500,000 (HKD) investment came from. His previous stints working for Cathay Pacific and a Marketing position in Hong Kong were not high paying jobs.

Celebrity sex seems exchanged at a high price within the Hong Kong entertainment circle, so this rumor may indeed turn out to be true…. Reading this type of gossip makes me jaded and pessimistic. Stephen is one of TVB’s hottest hunks!

  1. After what happened with Francois, I believe that Stephen will not be so foolish to go down the same path. According to Mingpao’s exclusive interview today, Stephen revealed his real girlfriend to dispel the rumors. She’s quite cute.

  2. Yes it will be a disappointment if this article is ringing some truth, it better not. I agree that Stephen is one of TVB’s hottest hunks 🙂

  3. Since it is not uncommon for women to date/marry for money, then it should not be surprising if men do as well.

  4. Sehseh, do you have a link to the mingpao article, I would like to see it. Thanks.

  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is. He can’t possibly afford his lifestyle now unless he is already well to do before and if he is he wouldn’t have joined the competition in the first place. But no shame in a legitimate sort of business, better than dealing drugs. He got what she wants, she got what he wants, it is a fair deal. Moreover it is possible to be a kept man with a girlfriend for all to see. Not surprised at all.

  6. I also read the Ming Pao article that sehseh gave me. Stephen said he save those money up very hard. He used up all his savings to open the restaurant.

  7. Margaret is going to sue the reporters. If she really go through with it, the possibility of them being innocent will be high.

Anyway, I believe th Ming Pao article.

  8. “He can’t possibly afford his lifestyle now unless he is already well to do before and if he is he wouldn’t have joined the competition in the first place. ”

He joined the competition because his colleague urged him to and he was a fan of TVB series since young. His colleagues first asked him to joined ATV one, but, he gave the excuse that he’s fat and wait until TVB has one, then he join. And 2 years later, TVB did organise one. He didn’t sign up with TVB immediately after the competition, but, the first role they have her was opposite Sonija. The prospect of working with Sonija contribute to his decision. Haha. That’s what he said.

I don’t think you have to be poor only you will join such competition or join showbiz. Raymond Lam came from a rich family, but, took risk and joined TVB acting class without finishing his studies. Kenneth Ma gave up his engineer job to join TVB acting class (I’m sure his salary will be lower). One of the recent Mr.HK participants was a doctor and he quite and work in TVB now. Calvin Chen also came from a fairly rich family, but, he joined Sunshine Boyz because the first prize was the opportunity to act in a Taiwanese series.

Sometimes, people join just to chase their dream.

  9. Sometimes rich people sue because they can. Even if you work an entire lifetime can you save a certain amount money as alleged as needed? Unless someone gave him a loan and I believe he had help as to in exchange of what is debatable. He could genuinely be a friend or god son or she just likes his entrepreneur skills. Who knows?

  10. No one really knows the true story behind the scenes. THat is his business, but I still question how he got all that money even if he did save hard. I don’t think he makes much from the jobs that he gets.

  11. Well, he has other jobs before he joined TVB. I remember reading somewhere that he was a manager of a toy manufacturing company. But, his asianfanatics profile said his previous occupation is ‘Retails and Business Director’. Maybe he saved money from there? And like HeTieShou said in the other news (http://www.jaynestars.com/news/stephen-huynh-reveals-girlfriends-photo-and-said-he-is-not-interested-in-older-women/), maybe his family help out? His older brother also hold high position in a company (I couldn’t find the news liao). Also, his family was not poor. They started out poor when they migrated to France, but, his father managed to built a business for himself there.

  12. He loves eating ‘rice in shoe’ meal. Guess what – old woman’s ‘rice in shoe’ may not taste good. However, be with filthy rich woman can be easy money. Maybe after the meal, he will throw out instantly behind her back. No one enjoy eating and or tasting old woman’s juice!
