Stephy Chi Weds Korean Boyfriend in Las Vegas

Mainland Chinese actress Stephy Chi (戚薇) officially tied the knot with her Korean-American boyfriend, singer/actor Nathan Lee (李承炫), at the Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on September 8.

One of mainland China’s rising young actresses, Stephy is less well known compared to her close friend Tiffany Tang (唐嫣), but she still boasts an impressive television career, which includes Schemes of a Beauty <美人心計> and Waking Love Up <愛情睡醒了>. Her romance with Nathan first came to light in April of last year, when it was rumored that Nathan had broken up with Taiwanese actress Ady An (安以軒) in order to pursue Stephy.

Despite negative rumors about Nathan’s romantic history, he and Stephy quickly progressed in their relationship. On Chinese Valentine’s Day this year, Nathan surprised Stephy by proposing to her at Saipan, where he publicly swore that he would love only her. In late August, Stephy publicly announced her marriage news on Sina Weibo and posted a photograph of her and Nathan goofing off while dressed in formal wedding attire.

Although they already considered themselves husband and wife, the couple was not yet officially recognized until their wedding ceremony in Las Vegas. The ceremony was originally scheduled to be held in an outside garden at Caesars Palace, but due to the sudden unrelenting rain that day, the location was changed to an inside venue.

The ceremony was simple and low-key but nevertheless full of warmth and romance. Nathan himself served as the translator during the entire event, even translating the chaplain’s every word from English to Mandarin so that Stephy and the other guests could understand.

Stephy was dressed in a wedding gown designed by Christopher Bu (卜柯文), who is known for being Fan Bingbing’s (范冰冰) exclusive stylist.
