TVB’s latest slice-of-life drama Speed of Life <鐵馬戰車> will drive into television screens next week. The drama, which centers on a team of traffic cops, stars Kenny Wong (黃德斌), Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), and Sisley Choi (蔡思貝). Synopsis

speed-of-life-tvbi-posterHong Kong traffic E&C inspector To Cheuk-fung (Kenny Wong) is dedicated to his mission. He and his subordinates often go undercover so they can easily prosecute those who speed, drunk drive, and hold illegal licenses. Cheuk-fung is an extremely cold person, serious in speech and manner, but he is strangely close friends with the boisterous Sze Ma (Benjamin Yuen) of the investigation team.

The duo are left speechless when they meet the rookie cop Bui Sam-yau (Sisley Choi), who they assumed would not be able to withstand Cheuk-fung’s strict demands. But after Sam-yau helps Cheuk-fung dispel a worry that he has kept locked in his heart for many years, the two grow extremely close, forming a pseudo father-daughter relationship.

Sam-yau’s satisfactory performance catches the attention of Sze Ma, who convinces her to join his team. Sze Ma has been less than pleased with his subordinate Yiu Yiu (Natalie Tong), who prefers to do everything by the book and fails to catch up to Sze Ma’s painstaking style of investigating.

Meanwhile, a racing gang has been wrecking havoc in the streets, sending out provoking messages to the police. Cheuk-fung and his team are given the light to track them down, but he ends up stepping into a dangerous boundary. A dark haze he has been avoiding once again appears before his eyes.

  1. Looks like the only drama series I MIGHT watch this year is the one featuring Uncle Chi though I am unsure how many episodes I can stand as Alex Fong is in it as well.

As for this drama, it’s one of the worst lineups I’ve seen in years. Aside from Natalie Tong, the rest are cringe-worthy to the core.

    1. @anon ~ Totally agree with you on the line-up of the casts, especially that Sisley Choi. Her acting is so monotonous and full of irritating screaming! Arghhh…

  2. seriously tvb are promoting the wrong guys, presenters on scoop have more pulling power.

  3. This content has been hidden as the member is suspended.

    1. @freedalas totally agree with you.

TVB is going downhill rapidly, woth no competition in yhe tv market. They just putting out rubbish on the screen.

    2. @freedalas

When has TVB ever made sense? If they did, they wouldn’t be in the current state they are in now. I saw this day coming since the early 2000’s when the station changed hands. Nothing made sense since.

    3. @freedalas totally agree.

lol. How many of their directors went to tangren?
No wonder Hu Ge’s Xuan Yuan Jian has a TVB vibe to it – which is good.

  4. Yeah defiantly gonna skip this one my gosh tvb really doesn’t have much to watch lately and there airing rubbish new series

  5. Add Jason Chan into this drama and you’ll get the top 3 wooden actors in TVB.

Already skipped Love As a Predatory Affair because of Jason Chan. I think I might skip this one too because I can’t stand the acting of Benjamin Yuen.

    1. @melody I’m with you on that. That series looks like a joke. I don’t know what TVB was thinking with that one. And Benjamin really is like a piece of wood with no facial expression whatsoever.

    2. @melody jason chan is stiff like a block of wood. benjamin no better. sisley is known for her screaming. when is TVB going to produce better quality dramas with A listers?

Love As a Predatory Affair is horrible. no quality and lousy plot.

      1. @janet72: what’s with all these MHK winners/runner-ups screaming and screaming? Sisley and Grace Chan are both from the 2013 MHK pageant. TVB can promote them by all means but at least send them for acting classes before presenting them onscreen.

      2. @janet72 TVB no longer cares for good actors. Most of their previous “good” A-list actors/actresses left and expanded their career in mainland. The only actual good actor left in TVB is Ruco, and TVB doesn’t seem to cherish him.

As for Sisley and Grace, their acting is so mediocre they’re probably gonna be stuck with TVB for another 10years or so (unless they get married and have kids and retire like Aimee Chan).

      3. @melody How is TVB not cherishing Ruco? TVB has already promoted ruco by casting him as the main lead in all his series. He has already been given many opportunities that many other supporting actors doesn’t have. What more do you expect TVB to give him?

      4. @melody ~ TVB seems to have forgotten totally about Ben Wong, Raymond Cho and even Evergreen Mak. These are some of the good actors around. TVB is heading to oblivion the minute another player is given the broadcasting license! Sir Run Run will turn in his grave knowing his beloved station being run into a circus!

    3. @melody I’m with you. Can’t stand Benjamin Yuen either. The cast and storyline are horrible. As for Jason Chan, I think he did okl in LAPA as I’m watching the series now

      1. @nori Benjamin Yuen and Jason Chan always seem to ruin a drama for me. They both seem so forced on camera and it’s a bit awkward to watch. Both of them read their lines like they’re reading a book. They also never seem to have chemistry with any of their co-stars whatsoever.

    4. @melody ` Benji too playful as an Inspector! Is this how they behave in real? Stlll, I won’t change my opinion on Sisley. Dreadful acting!

  6. Well…TVB doesn’t have many artists to choose from anymore.
Kenny is being promoted to lead now. I would rather see a fresh actors take a lead than always seeing Tony Hung. I’ll at least watch a few episodes to give it a chance.

    1. @mike ~ Tony looks like a pervert to me. His role in Angel in the making makes me sick, trying to act cool but looks ******! I gave that show a pass even though I quite like Eliza!

  7. I watched the first episode and I can’t continue anymore. Its too boring for mee and can’t stand Kenny Wong and Sisley Choi.

  8. There still two more new series with Sisley in it one with Tony another with Ng Kai Wah which I gonna pass as well!!!

  9. Justed watched 1st episode and had to fast forward to finish it.
    So painful to watch..

Can’t stand Kenny Wong in anything he does. Why is he the lead? And Sisley Choi, oh my. Can’t stand her either.

  10. seriously?
Cheuk-fung is an extremely cold person, serious in speech and manner?? means an actor who can’t act any other emotions again? jus like the executioner…boring

  11. Watched all 5 episodes so far and Sisley’s acting still not improved, I don’t get why she finds the need to shout her lines, and why the director allowed it to happen! Even in post production the sound techs/editor could lower her mic levels so it matches up to everyone elses’. The fact that her voice is naturally higher pitched makes it so much more unbearable!
