Tavia Yeung Will Not Announce if She’s Pregnant

At a promotional event for her latest television drama The Last Healer in Forbidden City <末代御醫>, newlywed Tavia Yeung (楊怡) admitted that she would not make any announcements if she does get pregnant. “I will not purposely let everyone know,” she said. “But time will prove everything.”

The 36-year-old actress, who married fellow actor Him Law (羅仲謙) in a private ceremony in England last month, was drilled with questions about whether or not she plans to have a baby. As if to put an end to pregnancy rumors, the actress wore a small white tank at the promotional event, revealing her slim waist.

Asking if her choice of wear was to prove that she wasn’t pregnant, she said, “I haven’t thought about that at all. You guys are thinking too much! It’s like what I said before—I will not purposely tell everyone [if I’m pregnant]. Time will prove everything. As for having kids, I’m going to let nature take its course. I will keep working. I don’t think I’ll think about having kids this year.” [What if you have an “accident”?] Tavia joked, “Touch wood! Let’s hope I won’t get into any accidents!”

Tavia’s management contract with TVB expired on April 1. The Last Healer in Forbidden City actress admitted that she still hasn’t renewed her contract yet. While The Last Healer promotional event was her last TVB event on the contract, Tavia said she is still in discussions to appear in more TVB-related shows.

“TVB is where my family is,” said Tavia. “If there is a suitable job I’ll definitely take it.” Asking if her husband Him, who is not managed by TVB, has given her any input about her contract, Tavia said, “We remain independent when it concerns our careers, but he would give his opinions.”

Rumors say that Tavia’s former manager has been in talks to bring Tavia to the mainland market. Tavia said, “I’ll try anything that is suitable.” She also revealed that she has been approached by a mainland agency. Although she has not thought about signing under Him’s agency Filmko, she would not be against working with her husband.

  1. The talk of Tavia possibly leaving TVB is a waste of time. She does not have a market elsewhere and would have to start from scratch.
