Tavia Yeung’s Mom Displeased with Him Law
Three years into their relationship, it is reported that Him Law (羅仲謙) moved in with Tavia Yeung (楊怡) and her mother in order to spend more time together. Unfortunately for the couple, Tavia’s mother has not been pleased with the living arrangements. To avoid further arguments, Tavia recently bought a new $7 million HKD home to live with Him.
Mrs. Yeung disapproved when Him moved in with Tavia’s family last year. An insider disclosed, “Mrs. Yeung asked Him why the couple doesn’t intend to get married first. The youngsters don’t listen nowadays and Him didn’t take Mrs. Yeung’s advice. Him is not angry, but he is resistant to cohabiting. When he was dating Theresa Fu (傅穎), he drove back to his apartment even if it was really late at night. Even after living with Tavia for a year, he is still not used to it. When he lived with his father, he could walk around the house with just a pair of shorts, but now he has to wear a shirt. Most importantly, Mrs. Yeung and Him don’t have a lot in common! In the last two months when Him arrives home before Tavia, he would hide in his room and play video games!”
With her mother and Him’s relationship worsening by the day, Tavia hoped to salvage the situation. Turning 36 years old this month, Tavia has already witnessed one good friend get married after another. With her sister, Griselda Yeung (楊娜) starting a family, Tavia hopes to do the same soon.
However, Tavia has trouble tying down Him since he is at the peak of his career right now. To keep her relationship stable, Tavia was seen looking at new apartments floor plans before finally settling on an unit in the Metro 6 building in the Hung Hom district.
When Him was asked about Tavia’s new house, Him shrugged and said, “I think she wants to buy the property for investment!”

I also think so. In Chinese, there is a saying “旁觀者清,當局者迷”. Mothers always want the best for their children!
Tavia’s mother may ‘want’ what’s best for her daughter but she doesn’t necessarily ‘know’ what’s best. Plus she may be clouded by her own biases and old school beliefs. End of the day, Tavia is an adult and her relationship is her own business. There’s nothing wrong with caring for her daughter, but she really should let Tavia deal with her relationship on her own and offer advice when and if asked for.
In the first place Tavia is much older than Him!

Women do tend to show their age quicker than men due to hormonal changes, and not to mention that Him has a baby face so would look even younger.
Just look at Chilam and Anita. They looked compatible then in the 90’s, but now he still looks as hot as ever while Anita has let herself go! I applaud their love but Anita definitely looks older than Chilam now.
But love is more than looks. If Tavia and Him really do love each other, then age and appearance should not get in their way. But do they want kids? Cos Tavia is nearly 35. Her biological clock is ticking fast. He can wait but she cannot.
Tavia is only FIVE, (5) years older than Him Law. How is five years older considered much older. Many, many years ago, even before our great, great, great, great grandparents time, it was frowned upon in china if the woman was older than the man. I thought we had come out of that stone age era, but, I guess not.
Mother does not always know best. Tavia’s mum is going to find all sorts of excuses for thinking H law is not good for her daughter because she wants Kenneth Ma for her Tavia. It is about who, and what Tavia want. These Hong Kong parents always want to run and rule the lives of their adult children with iron fists. Let the adults live, make mistakes and become stronger and wiser individuals. As parents, be there for them when your adult offspring make mistakes.

Well, I kinda agree that age is not a real factor to determine whether a relationship works or it doesn’t. But the fact that Him was reported to have hit Theresa Fu before is more than enough to have Tavia mother to have a bad impression on him in the first place.

Although I am a fan of him and I love his acting very much, but I still cannot understand why he likes Tavia. Tavia is like so much older than him and it was reported that tavia had plastic surgery ( which I believed ). He should find someone of the same age as him or even younger than him.

Agreed, successful independent women (like Tavia) doesn’t need marriage. Just have the baby and if Him Law’s love is true, he’ll stick around. But, if not, no lost for Tavia.

I understand the same age concept. However why is it not OK for a woman to date younger man but it’s OK for a man to date much younger woman? That sounds so sexist. Women outlive men in this world, in order to live a full life maybe the guy should be younger?
If you speak from the biological clock, that was taken back in the days when women’s sole purpose was to give birth to many as children as possible. I don’t think in these days and age people want to have dozens of kids. Sex can be still hot after menopause. Younger girl doesn’t necessarily guarantee hot sex after 5 years and 4 kids.
I have dated both old and younger men. I don’t see the difference in maturity in terms of age. Some men are more mature and understanding even at young age and some men are still man-child even after 40.

Mom is always right about things like that, but her mom is saying way too much to the media about her daughter’s personal matter. That’s not cool too! Tavia need to find someone who respects her and her family. Marriage or not. I think he got work done too.

I’m amazed & amused that people would think this is real news 🙂 would Tavia’s mom spill the truth if it is such. Have we ever heard from her mom on anything before? Like she would even talk to the press, let alone on such private matters. There are only 3 persons in Tavia’s household, assuming Him moved in…so who spoke to the press? Tavia/Him? It’s all fabricated news for sure 🙂 yet people would believe everything they read 🙂
There are many gossip articles floating around that sound far more plausible than this, but we should also take with a grain of salt. Reminds me of a Wong Kit interview (by Lam San San) where he recounts sitting on the toilet at home this one time when he got a call. Apparently, the person on the other end of the line was like, “The heck were you doing just now? Why’d you get involved in a drunken brawl at the bar?” The rumour mill never ends once you’re in the spotlight. And never mind the media, even the people around you aren’t averse to spreading (malicious) lies.
