Superstars, Tony Leung Chi Wai and Andy Lau Tak Wah, appeared at the November 6th opening ceremony of Jiangmen Star Park , a celebrity-themed park in Guangdong , China . In the past, there were rumors that Tony and Andy did not get along with each other. At the event, the pair talked and laughed together, dispelling previous rivalry rumors. Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Ti Lung and his wife, Raymond Wong Pak Ming and his son,Gillian Chung, Kiki Sheung Tin Gnor, Deep Ng Ho Hong, and other celebrities attended. Maggie Cheung Ho Ying and Cutie Miu Siu Wai hosted the event.
The Jiangmen Star Park features over one hundred bronze statue and handprints of famous celebrities, such as Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Eric Tsang, Alan Tam Wing Lun, Donnie Yen Chi Dan, etc. Andy Lau arrived in a mini-van and the police cleared the path for his entrance. When Andy waved at the crowd, everyone started applauding and cheering! Eric Tsang was also highly popular with the crowd.
Tony Leung received the most attention when he appeared at the event. The Jiangmen City Committee personally invited Tony to attend the opening ceremony. Tony made his appearance to support his hometown and did not receive compensation. After the event, Tony will return to Guangdong to continue filming Wong Kar Wai’s A Great Master <一代宗师>. Admitting that he rarely returned to his hometown, Tony was happy to see the economic development of Jiangmen. Tony hoped to be able to return to Jiangmen more frequently.
Although recovering from his fracture injury, Tony said that injuries were difficult to avoid in an action movie. Asked whether it was a long time since Tony saw Andy Lau, he said that they often saw each other at film festivals and award ceremonies.

I still love them together in the Duke of Mount Deer. It is a classic to me!
Well, they’re not best friends, doesn’t mean they’re rivals. They have different portfolio.
It is great to hear that Tony and Andy get along and are not rivals. I think they are at least normal friends and plus Andy is good friends with Carina as well.Who said that they had to be rivals??
I loved them in Duke of Mt. Deer too. That is always a classic to me and they had a lot of chemistry….

I’m sure they’re on good terms too even if they are not the best of friends. I would love to see them collaborate again after Infernal Affairs. It probably would be impossible to see them in a TVB series again since they are way too “expensive,” LOL..but if they did, ratings would past the 50 mark everyday.
Which is why the TVB series they are in now classics and are rare gems since they will never be in any series(not just TVB) again. I don’t really like watching Chinese movies so the TVB series that they were in are now what I treasure most.
But yea, it is great to hear that Andy and Tony are on good terms. It would be great to see them in act in another movie together.
it’s hard to switch from series to movies and likewise. i don’t find the two of them will necessarily excel in a series as they do in movies. they might do very well but it’s not as certain as some of you find it.
there are plenty of examples in those mainland series with stars that are normally in movies filming series.
i can’t think of one specific to tvb right now, will have to get back.
Don’t really know how the media managed to cook up the fact the two are on bad terms. Possibly like 20 years ago when they both started but now is absurd…

Actually that’s not entirely true. Those two used to be in a lot of series in the 80s, so they are accustomed to series as well as movies. They acted together in Duke of Mount Deer.
