  1. Compared to the renowned Koo Ka-Fei, Tang Chi Wai is not outstanding at all as one of TVB’s main music producers.

Koo Ka-Fei was so much better in his melodies and songs.

    1. I love Koo Ka Fai’s songs too, but, there should be room to celebrate other composers instead of just Ko Ka Fai. Each composer has his/her own style.

      1. That is my personal choice only. I don’t like Tang’s songs at all. Sooooory!

    2. Please don’t compare Tang Chi Wai to Joseph Koo….they are definitely NOT in the same league! It’s like comparing an Olympic sports player to a college player — completely different! I highly doubt that TCW will ever get to the level of Joseph Koo….

Btw, for those of us who miss Joseph Koo — he will be having a concert at the HK Coliseum in November (this was the concert that he had wanted to do with James Wong back in 2005, but he cancelled it because he was too devastated from James’ death). Now THAT concert will definitely be a star-studded event (now if you really want to see quality singing of classic TVB themesongs, THAT’s definitely the concert to watch!!).

Absolutely agree with you. There is NO comparison between Joseph Koo and Tang Chi Wang, not the same level, at all. I also highly doubt that TCW will ever get to the level of Joseph Koo….

I don’t live in Hong Kong and will not be able to go to Joseph Koo’s November concert. I am sure that there will be a lot of super stars (I mean those quality-singers who sing well) participating. I will try to watch it on DVD when it is available.

        Thanks for your information.

      2. @sandcherry, llwy12, meanwhile, you can watch this 金曲情牽半世紀演唱會 Oldies but goldies songs by Joseph Koo and James Wong, concert hosted by Michael Hui. I’m not a tvb fan but a great fan of olden days tvb themesongs so this concert on the link is a great treat to me.

Most of you may have already watched the video but it is worth re-visiting.
