TVB Producer Clears Fala Chen’s Damaging Rumors
During the filming of Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> in Europe, many negative rumors revolving around Fala Chen (陳法拉) surfaced, including rumors that she was late for 2 hours during filming. In addition, Fala and Chilam Cheung (張智霖) were reportedly too intimate during their romantic scenes.
Fala denied the rumors and was unhappy that the media had created so many false stories about her. She posted on her Weibo saying,”If I did it, I will admit it. Since I did not do it, I will try to find out where the misunderstanding came from. As part of a team, I will reflect on how to be more considerate of everyone next time. Finally, trouble started. As a public figure, I discuss with you how to respond to the outside world, to protect this team. It turns out that I am wrong, as I offered single-sided love (我自作多情).”
Yesterday, Triumph in the Skies 2 cast members, Fala Chen, Chilam Cheung, Francis Ng (吳鎮宇), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), and Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and the production team returned to Hong Kong. Executive producer, Joe Chan (陳維冠), Chilam, and Fala spoke to the media to clarify the negative rumors that arose while filming in Europe.
A makeup artist had leaked that a “Miss C” was late to the filming set for two hours. Joe explained that there was a misunderstanding between Fala, the makeup artist, and hairstylist. During the filming in Europe, there was only one hairstylist and one makeup artist. Fala applied her own makeup and would later get her hair done in another room. She saw the hairstylist was busy working with other cast members, so she waited outside for them to finish. One crew member thought Fala was late as no one explained the situation to him. After the incident, Fala and the hairstylist came to an understanding and have already moved on from the incident.
Difficulty Adjusting to Time Changes
As for Fala’s rumored tardiness during filming, Joe said he would not allow nor tolerate any cast member to be late for such a long period of time. He also said that everyone worked very hard, which resulted in stressed tensions at times. Joe admitted most team members were late once or twice but it was understandable as everyone had difficulty in adjusting to the time change while filming in a foreign country.
Angry at the Media
Francis Ng’s message on his Weibo stated that the team was hurt and betrayed by someone. Joe explained that Francis was expressing his anger towards the negative news that the media had been writing. The reporters and cameraman followed the crew everyday and they were only there to create false stories and not the truth.
As for the intimate photos of Fala and Chilam in Paris, Joe said these photos were taken during filming.
Fala and Chilam Were Not Intimate
When approached by the press regarding his overly intimate behavior with Fala in Paris, Chilam said, “I am not even worried; we are only acting and there’s no need to explain to my wife.”
Fala also replied, “The photos were taken from the scenes during filming, so I am not too concerned. It doesn’t matter anyway, as long everyone knows I am telling the truth.” Fala also mentioned she is no longer upset and understands artists can easily become entangled in scandals and rumors.
After completing filming in Europe, the Triumph in the Skies 2 cast and crew will fly to Taiwan for on location film today.
