Vincent Wong Sustains Head Injury On Set of “Fatal Resurrection”

Vincent Wong (王浩信) was taken to the hospital following a car crash on the set of TVB drama, Fatal Resurrection <致命復活> in Tuen Mun. Vincent, along with his costar Roger Kwok (郭晉安), was shooting an action scene involving a car chase. Vincent lost control of his car and crashed into a larger vehicle. When the staff helped him out of the crash site, Vincent’s forehead and hands were bleeding.

Although Vincent looked dazed, he felt well enough to walk into the ambulance himself. However, he had to be supported by the paramedics. He told the reporters that he felt really dizzy.

Vincent arrived to the Tuen Mun Hospital moments later. Though he said he still felt dizzy while lying on the hospital bed, he was clear-headed and recalled the crash in excruciating detail. His left brow ridge and forehead were taped with gauze. His right index finger was also bandaged.

He said, “My head still hurts. They will do a CT scan on me later to see if my brain is alright. I’m pretty sure that I’m okay. The doctor said there’s a minor cut on my left eyelid. Everything happened so suddenly so I’m not sure where I got hit in the head, but I do know that it’s very swollen now.”

The actor expressed his concerns about impeding the filming schedule for Fatal Resurrection, and also said he felt awful for worrying his family. However, he did immediately call his mother and his wife, actress Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), after the incident to tell them that he is safe.

Later CT scans indicated that Vincent’s head injury was minor; there was no bleeding nor skull fractures. However, he would have to remain in the hospital for a few more days to wait for the swelling in his forehead to go down.

“I’m okay,” said Vincent. “I hope to get well soon. I don’t want to cause so much worry. I’ve never  experienced a car accident before, whether in real life or in filming. Fortunately I’m not as injured as I thought I was.”

“Right now our priority is Vincent Wong’s health,” said Fatal Resurrection producer Lam Chi-wah (林志華) when he was asked if the accident had seriously hindered the drama’s filming schedule. “We’ll see what happens after his report comes in. Vincent is a very responsible person. He is very worried about the filming schedule, but his health comes first.” Mentioning that the drama would be shooting in Vietnam in March, Lam Chi-wah pointed out that the crew would consider Vincent’s health first before proceeding to any change of plans.

  1. This is scary and can happen to anyone doing action scenes. Makes me so worried for Ruco cos he seems to be filming one action drama after another and he’s always game to do the stunts himself. Thinking back, he had a nasty accident on the set of ROE where he sustained a cut near his eye, thankfully not too serious and no scar. Just a couple of weeks there was report of another accident involving Carat cheung. Hopefully they’ll take more care in future.

    1. @isay: I must say Ruco fans will somehow try to sneak him into the topic when it is not related to him. LOL
It just shows how much we adore Ruco, finding every chance to talk about him.
Did you notice that he has a scar right below his chin? It is probably sustained during filming I think. This scar makes him evenly more manly and sexier 🙂

  2. an actor’s face is their most prized asset…that said, hopefully this injury will heal and fade and not stick around Vincent. Accidents are prone to happen but the crew should take more care.

  3. Gosh. That’s scary! I am glad he is OK. Scars are fine. You can get laser treatment for that and if TVB wants to promote him, they better foot the bill.

Yes,glad he is ok. No,laser treatment is very painful even with anesthesia. Therefore, I really hope he does not get any major scars that would require it. Hope he gets well soon.

      1. @hetieshou I am quite worried about some TVB artistes getting injured doing their own stunts. In some ways, I do agree that the actually actor/actress doing the stunt makes it more believable and better to watch, but at the same time, they are not stuntmen and do not how to protect themselves in case something goes wrong. Didn’t Eddie Cheung get some glass exploded into his eye some years ago? And someone broke their leg. And Joe tore a tendon and Linda got thrown to the ground in an explosion scene in TC2! It is really scary since they career is pretty much over if they have spinal injuries.
