Wallace Huo Touched by Diehard Fans’ Support in Taiwan

Although born in Taiwan and shooting popularity in local idol dramas, Wallace Huo (霍建華) shifted his focus to the Mainland Chinese market in 2003 because he wanted to broaden his acting opportunities. Noted for his performances in period dramas, Wallace found success in the Mainland market and even co-produced Perfect Couple <金玉良緣>. To promote his new production, Wallace returned to Taiwan and attended at a fan-signing event yesterday.

Since it has been ten years since Wallace appeared at local fan meetings in his home country, he was enthusiastically greeted by over 200 fans. Touched by the fans’ kindness and support despite his absence over the years,  Wallace was unable to keep his emotions under control. He said, “Some fans may support others, but if there are people that still remember who I am, that is enough for me. Even if there are only three fans, I’ll do my best to complete the event.” After personally greeting the fans and wiping away happy tears, Wallace took photos with the attendees.

Perfect Couple is the first television drama that Wallace also served as the producer. He said the biggest challenge in becoming a producer is taking on the responsibility of facing the media while promoting the drama.

Since Wallace particularly enjoys filming projects that bring joy to people, Perfect Couple is designed as a light-hearted romantic comedy. It stars Tiffany Tang (唐嫣) as his romantic opposite. Wallace hopes that this comedy will release a burst of positive energy and bring people happiness. He looks forward to an opportunity to film a drama in Taiwan in the future.

Although often rumored with his female co-stars, Wallace maintains a low profile over his romantic life. Asked when he hopes to get married, he said he will let fate decide. “It’s hard to find the time due to filming dramas. To find a woman that can tolerate me is truly difficult.”

  2. From the title, I thought it means a fan physici touched him (like ham sup sau) lol. But he’s just moved by fans affection :p

  3. Is it me or do I feel like Wallace Huo is getting better looking each year he grows older?

    1. No, it’s not only you… Wallace is an exquisitely handsome man, similar to ginger the older he is the hotter he becomes.

      1. Agree! Ten years ago, I would call him a very pretty boy. He’s a MAN now and one very hot one too. Seeing him in uniform in Battle of Changsa, swoons.

  4. He looks different but still very handsome. This clean cut look match him and I feel like he could easily pass as a westerner, born and raised.

    1. Very true. He looked half asian or mixed, very handsome here.

  5. love his acting and hes getting more and more handsome every year! lol

  6. So I googled him and other photos were just okay with medium to kinda long hair. He only looks EXTREMELY HANDSOME here haha. The hairstyle is so important.

  7. There’s something weird about his eyes. First pic looks ok but not the second pic. Somehow he reminds me of William Chak in these pics.

  8. I never get tired drooling over his good looks! 🙂 Looks good whatever angles. Love Perfect Couple. Happy comedy. So happy it’s going to be shown in Astro/Malaysia on 8 September. Yay!

  9. He’s a very handsome and mesmerizing actor. Would like to see him in more modern series.

    1. He has acted in several modern series. But of late, there seems to be more ancient costume dramas for him. I think it’s partly due to the fact that Wallace looks ridiculously handsome in ancient costumes and white! (as in White Tofu in Chinese Paladin 3 and now Bai Zi Hua in Journey of Flower).

  10. Wallace Huo my ultimate bias of 2014. Loved him in “at the dolphin bay” but he was terrible at acting. Love him in “Battle of Changsha” he has improved trumendously. I can now proudly say that he is more than just a pretty face. Most of his modern dramas are crap.. But you may want to check out “Go Yi Yi Go”.
