Wayne Lai Invites “Eunuchs Leave the Palace” Cast Home for Dinner

Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) invited Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), Power Chan (陳國邦), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) to a home-cooked dinner to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Becoming good friends after 2012’s The Confidant <大太監>, the cast is reunited for new TVB drama, Eunuchs Leave the Palace <公公出宮>.

Wayne’s wife, Julia, spent hours in the kitchen to make many delicious dishes for the guests. Joining in on the fun were the men’s girlfriends and wives, including Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) and Mimi Lo (羅敏莊).

While Raymond Cho often teased Edwin and Priscilla, Wayne did not pressure the couple about marriage. Wayne laughed, “Edwin is an adult now; he can think for himself.”

However, Priscilla’s love for children became apparent when she spent the majority of the night playing with Raymond Wong’s sons. Priscilla said, “I think children are so cute. I do [want children] after seeing Raymond’s sons and Mimi’s daughter. [Raising children] is very selfless. It’ll require extensive thinking first and right now, I want to focus on work.”

Adding on to his girlfriend’s comment about delaying marriage and children until she is ready, Edwin joked, “Maybe this is not the right time and luck is not on my side. I’ll have to wait another few years first. Raymond and Power’s fatherly love seem very special. It’s definitely not easy. Raising children takes a lot of energy.”

  1. Maybe they can conjur a new series called “Eunuchs go home for Dinner”

  2. man these are some of tvbs biggest actors now, they arent bad, but tvb is really losing all their stars

    1. Agree TVB is loosing all there best actor/actresses due to there stupidity which they dont cherish the hard working ppl!!!

      1. I’m still anticipating to watch this series although i havent watched 大太監 wonder if its good??!!

      2. it was okay. i managed to finish it. power was the star, and raymond cho’s character was memorable too. but wayne, raymond wong, edwin and the ladies were just so-so. very average, apart from power.

  3. Tvb is not doing enough to retain their artistes…often overworking them. As viewers, we are going to see less veterans. It’s very sad.

    1. Star power? What do you consider as star power? I would think that winning the approval and appreciation from audiences would be star power, which most of these actors have achieved. They are actors who can act, not artists who just stand pretty and have what it takes to capture audiences attention with their performances.

      1. these people can act and are well liked…but look at the stars 5-10 years ago and look at the tvb stars now that lead tv series…u gotta admit, big difference

      2. To me, the difference is that tvb is promoting newcomers at a faster rate than ever before. Because they are losing, and have lost a lot of their leading artists in the recent decade. Of course there is a big difference, but that doesn’t mean these artists don’t have what it takes to be good actors. Instead of questioning artists abilities to act, why not question the actual scripts that the company comes up with nowadays? Have you noticed a big difference in the scripts, it’s originality and creativity, two things that lack In todays dramas? Tvb still have great artists who can act, they just don’t cherish their talent and try to make way for newcomers all the time. If they worked harder on their scripts and smarter in utilising talents they already have within the company, perhaps things would be better for all. I meant even if they cast the greatest actors of all time, with poor scripts and characters, how do you expect an actor to get into character and bring it to life onscreen?

      3. Everything they need to be better is right under their very noses, they are just too blinded by milking money here and there and not passionate in creating actual quality dramas for customers for them to be satisfied and loyal. There is a big difference between the view ratings of dramas back in the days, to the ratings now. They only average 21, 22 points. Doesn’t that ring a bell to the company? Why they have dropped dramatically and losing their viewers, everything happens for a reason.

      4. Winning appreciation and approval is star power? No wonder tvb quality so low. Audience so low expectations.

      5. Yup….not only is TVB too pre-occupied with milking money here and there, they are also too obsessed with coming up with implementing ridiculous, restrictive policies that limit artists’ freedoms. For example, TVB just came out with a rule that limits the type of interaction that artists are allowed to have on social media platforms (such as Facebook and Weibo) — now artists have to think twice before they post up stuff thanking others for gifts or for sponsoring their clothes, accessories, makeup, etc. This is the kind of ridiculous stuff that makes artists not want to sign management contracts with TVB….

  4. They just can stay at the drama world until old. If they leave the drama industry, where else can they go? Unlike people like Raymond Lam, he can do in any field because he got the star power as mentioned by pan. Or at least like louis koo can movie nonstop but without winning anything. haha.

  5. Eh, I wouldn’t say RL has star power until he actually makes it in film industry. He’s just basically started. The fils he was in weren’t that big or well received. Louis Kuo, yes Star Power. Leaving TVB and having a few movie projects doesn’t equate to star power.
