Wong Hei Opens Lucrative Auction Business

Last month, Wong Hei (王喜) opened up a new rental business called Hall, a large storage area in Tai Hang. In the past few weeks, Wong Hei has set up an auction business, and has been busying himself with selling used antiques, clothes, handbags, and other valuable stage outfits which were once used by famous artistes. Many of the used items Wong Hei was selling were from extremely expensive brands such as Hermes, Chanel, and Celine, some worth up to $10,200 HKD.

The 46-year-old revealed about his auction, “We are collaborating with a Japanese wholesale distributor of used bags. On the April 5 and 6 sales, we auctioned out one hundred used vintage bags. The lowest bid was about two to three thousand dollars, and there was one that was bid for every dollar. On April 7 and 8, we sold used clothes from artistes. Some of them are from Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣)! The lowest was from two hundred dollars, and the lowest for evening gowns was seven thousand dollars.”

Wong Hei expressed that he still feels like a rookie when it comes to managing the business, remarking that he still has many ideas forming in his mind. He plans to expand his ideas further in the next few months. “I’m going to sell women’s clothes first, and in May, I will sell men’s clothes. I also plan to hold an art fair in May or June.”

The former TVB actor has been raking in a lot of money since opening up his business last month. He revealed that his business hold events every week, hinting that he may be too busy to accept new acting projects at the moment.

      1. Served in the police force, I think? Not sure what else. A number of actors seemed to have been police officers (or worked in the public sector) prior to their career at TVB. I was most surprised with Bowie Lam.
