Yang Mi Helped Tiffany Tang Recover from Heartbreak

Last week, mainland Chinese actress Tiffany Tang (唐嫣) was rushed to the hospital in the early morning to get stitches for her injured hand, leaving the news media to wonder if she was contemplating suicide due to her breakup with Taiwanese actor Roy Chiu (邱澤). Although her manager confirmed that the injury was an accident, the typically radiant Tiffany has clearly been in an emotional slump during the past few weeks. However, in a recent interview, Tiffany shared that her good friend, fellow actress Yang Mi (楊冪), helped her recover from the lowest points of her heartbreak.

In the past, Tiffany has spoken glowingly of her close friendship with Yang Mi, but it was not until recently that netizens learned how tight-knit the two are. “When you’re at your weakest, she will give you a call every day,” said Tiffany. “Some days I didn’t pick up, or I was feeling extremely low, or I didn’t give her a call back, and she would text me every day. She would ask how I was, if I was okay, if I needed her right now, if I needed her to call. She would call and say, ‘Whenever you need me or want to talk to me, [call me] at any time, even in the middle of the night.’ I was very touched.”

Yang Mi also helped Tiffany handle questions regarding her love life from the media, in the hopes that Tiffany would recover more quickly. “When I’m in a bad mood,” shared Tiffany, “I’m used to closing myself off, refusing to see anyone or take anyone’s calls or pay attention to anyone else…. [During those times,] she will come and find me.”

Because the entertainment industry is known for its competitiveness, many have expressed skepticism that such a friendship between two actresses could exist. Tiffany acknowledges that their friendship is “very rare,” but maintains that Yang Mi is one of her closest friends, as well as one of the most trustworthy.

“She will continually call and text me,” said Tiffany. “She gives me positive energy.”

  1. Why it is the media always report on actresses don’t get along, fight or backstabbing but never on actors. There are so many actresses that are close friends and support each other, the China market is big enough for everyone.

    1. it’s coz conflicts between the artists create drama, which means more gossip, news and popularity.

u see, TVB never really reported much on their artistes not getting along, which is why they’re not as popular as they were back then

  2. awww.. cute-yang mi is such a lovely person!!!

Hawick sure didn’t pick the wrong lady!!!

  3. yang mi looks really pretty, but she really looks like the asian version of Emma Stone coz of the big forehead.

    1. Tiffany? I don’t know but Yang Mi? I am sure that plastic surgery definitely has been performed. She looks very much different than before.

    2. I don’t think Tiffany looks that bad, but YM yes. She is starting to look plastic to me

      1. She always been plastic. The minute she flashes those teeth of hers, you can pretty much tell she can NEVER be a natural beauty. The other one is ok, probably still natural i don’t even if she did, probably not as much work done as YM.

      2. TY look plastic, and I’ve read she things done to her face. Still look ugly to me.

  4. I am very impressed with what I have read about Yang Mi in the context of an individual and as a friend. It has been pretty consistent; that she is someone who values friendship, she is easy going and friendly and makes friends easily and keeps friends even more easily. Very impressive.

    1. @Funn: agree with you. i’m trying hard not to judge the book by its cover, but from yang mi’s facial features and the vibe she gives off i would never thought that she can be that type of person like you said lol. but guess i’m wrong lol

    2. Yes, Yang Mi is a good friend, and Yuan Shan Shan was her classmate in University, and she recommended Yuan Shan Shan to act in Gong 2….
      http://goo.gl/eslGf
Cam I wish she’s not such a loyal friend? 🙁

  5. Yang Mi, as an actress, has plenty of room for improvement, but as an individual, she quite a great person and very sentimental. Yang Mi and Tang Yan are close. One can tell by their interaction when they’re in the same event.

  6. I thought Yang Mi was closest with Liu Shi Shi?? No wonder they all had great chemistry in Xian Jian 3…

    1. I believe Yang Mi and Tang Yan have a deeper friendship. And since Yang Mi filmed Gong for Yu Zheng, she and CES severed all ties. Karen reportedly badmouth Yang Mi and forbidded her people not to associate with Yang Mi. Guess who’s under CES management :))

      1. meaning that I would not have chance to see Yang Mi vs. Hu Ge again. What a pity!!!

      2. you never know. I believe Hu Ge’s 10 years contract with CES must have expired already, if not, then should be soon. If he’s a free agent, then he can participate in other projects without restriction

      3. Oh really? I did not know that… it is sad that that happened then. IF Hu Ge is a free agent then he can act wherever and with whoever he likes. Same with LSS or anyone so hope to see them all together again in a series one day.

      4. sure, free agents have the freedom to pick and choose their projects. Not sure, about LSS though, I’m not sure how many years she signed with CES. She can always break her contract like LGX, but CES is treating her well, so I don’t see her pulling the LGX. Also, so far, she’s a one hit wonder, she has no other success other than BBJX. She needs to stick with CES a little longer and have a few series under her belt before venturing out as a free agent.

      5. LSS and YangMi are still really close. What goes on with company business is business and as they mentioned, it does not mix with personal relationship.

LSS and Yangmi were in many events together in recent years, way after the CP3 fallouts and still very much had the same interactions as they had on the set of CP3 (as seen in pictures and interviews). Same goes for HG, he still have very good relationship with YM.

Hu Ge will never leave CES, as he’s part owner of the company and have really good relationship with Karen. If he wanted to leave, he would have done it a long time ago.

As far as acting, I think all three (LSS, YM, TY) have many to improve on.

      6. you would hope that the business side should not have interfered with the personal friendship, but that wasn’t back then. CES or Karen was quite hateful toward Yang Mi. I recalled reading an interview a while ago about this. The tension between them was so bad that there was a time when Yang Mi was really ill, only Wallace Huo, whom at the time was filming for CES, visited her (implied no one associated with CES at the time did) and she was quite touched by his sincerity. Of course, it has been 3 years or so ago, so things have died down quite alot.

Is Hu Ge a partner of CES now? I didn’t know that. I knew he co-produced XYZ, but that just could mean that he took in less compensation up front, but had back end deals from the profit for this series.

As for acting, LSS is very likable off-screen. Her onscreen presence is questionable.

Yang Mi, I haven’t really given her a fair chance in watching any of her series other than CP3, but she seemed to be the most sought after out of the three.

In my opinion, Tang Yan is a great actress. She turned a character that I would normally find annoying into one I enjoyed through her performance. To me, that’s all credit to her ability. Also, she actually graduated (not just attend like most artists) from Central Academy. She has a strong development and foundation.

      7. That’s quite funny how you say she turned an annoying character to not be annoying? To me, TY is annoying as much as her character and it seems that’s she good at it or else they wouldn’t let her play so many annoying characters in most of her series. IMO, she’s stiff and a terrible actress.

      8. so you find Tang Yan herself, annoying?! ’nuff said. there is no point discussing the roles or her skills, if you don’t like that person on a personal level.

      9. What kind of a idiotic remark is that? Karen can never forbid her artists to not associate with anyone. Stop talking sh*t like that if you have no proof.

      10. YM and LSS have a closer friendship, they just didn’t flaunt it like TY do for the media to see just to get publicity.

During the fight with Karen and YM, LSS said in an interview she and YM would still be shopping in Beijing when they get a chance to. And whatever happens with the company and YM is company business and should not interfere with her relationship with YM. YM would also visit LSS at the company’s office when she’s in the area.

Yes, you got your source right about Karen badmouthing YM, but she never forbid her artists to stop associating with YM. She said her company, meaning CES will not have YM doing their series anymore, but there’s more to that-YM backed out on CES sponsored game-Fantasy Zhu Xian which she promised to be in, but backed out without any explanation and in turn went to film for a competitor game.

YM not only had conflicts with CES during that time, she also had issues with other big filming company names and got blacklisted from the.

Maybe you should do your research first before badmouthing anybody eh?

By the way, when YM was sick, Wallace never visited her, he sent her TEA! Stars are so busy nowadays, do you really think they have time to visit somebody because they are sick or have a cold? Get real.

  7. Sometimes you forget how young these actresses really are, because they have already experienced so big success at such a young age (e.g. compared to the HK market).

  8. TY was a private person. Why suddenly all these publicity after the break-up? Self-pity? She gave her assistant the personal picture of her and roy, and okied the attack on Roy. She started the public break up. Then the “cut”? Now this? Get over it.

    1. Also, TY aint that good of an actress. How many of her series were successful? Other than playing a whiny and spoiled brat in her series, what other roles was she famous for? Wayyyy… overrated.

      1. I agree w/u completely, I caught an episode or 2 on utube of the one w/her ex b/f roy something. Boring as hell….same old, been there done that kind of series. But I never like the acting of the male lead even if he gets to be a lead very often.

  9. I was going to say that Yang Mi and Tiffany Tang have similar looking nose. probably same nose job and eyebrows. O_O

    1. really??? you see the same nose??? wowww… now I wonder if it’s the noses or your eyesight that is truly the problem.

    2. Except that YM’s looked tons better with the job. TY still looks ugh!

  10. Why is Tang Yan playing the damsel in distress when she started this whole ordeal? She was the one who chose to exposed the rumor and making this into a media fiasco.

    1. she was distressed as any normal human being would when they their relationship ended. You said she chose to expose the relationship, I presume you meant through her “assistant,” but what the media neglected to report is that the “assistant” was a former employee when all these happened.

      1. Of course she would have to “fire” the assistant and feign innocent, wouldn’t she?

  11. then by your logic, why didn’t the media reported the termination? It surely would add more juice to the scandal and confirmed their articles’ legitimacy.

    1. They didn’t need to. They got all they need to make this break-up the biggest news in the entertainment world. The more Tang Yan make herself look weak, the more the media will have a hay of a day.

      1. Didn’t you say she’s a good actress? Then “fake” being strong.

      2. I see, so you’re saying, Roy is the victim and Tang Yan is the evil queen that played the media like a fool??!!

      3. Wait, Tang Yan lied about her age? So the rumors was true! Once a liar, always a liar..LOL.
