Yang Mi Leaves Hospital with Newborn Daughter

After giving birth to a seven-pound baby girl on June 1 in Hong Kong, Yang Mi (楊冪) left the hospital today. Husband Hawick Lau (劉愷威) carried the baby basket, which was covered by a white blanket to shield the baby from reporters’ cameras.

At 11 a.m., Hawick’s sister, mother, and father Lau Dan (劉丹) were seen accompanying the couple out of the hospital. After the family was comfortably settled inside the car, Hawick spoke to the press for the first time since Yang Mi gave birth.

“It’s hard to describe [my feelings]; I’m trying to get used to being a father first,” Hawick said. Asked whom the baby resembles, Hawick replied, “She combines the best features of myself, [Yang Mi], grandpa and grandma.” Hawick said he still needs more practice to change diapers and bottle feed.

Although Yang Mi gave birth via a Cesarean section, she has already tried breastfeeding her daughter.  The new mother looked fantastic when she left the hospital today, wearing a dress that revealed her slender limbs.

The family has not settled on a name for the baby girl yet, but Lau Dan will come up with several options and seek the advice of a professional feng shui master. Lau Dan revealed that Hawick has hired a nanny to take care of Yang Mi during her postpartum recovery, “[The nanny] has been busying herself in the kitchen after getting up first thing in the morning. She is very experienced.”

Asked whether the baby’s photo will be officially released to the press and if a first-month baby banquet will be held, Lau Dan replied that Hawick and Yang Mi will decide later.

  1. Congratulation to one of my favorite celebrity couple:)

  2. Saw this on TV. Lau Dan couldn’t stop smiling ALL THE TIME. I must say Yang Mi found herself a nice father in law!

      1. she seems respectful to him because her husband is. All very positive attitude. Dolls or mannequins, they all seem normal in attitude. Husband who adores the wife, reasonable father in law, dutiful daughter in law..

    1. Father-in-laws are usually nice. It’s the MILs that are difficult to handle.

      1. Very true, but some rather in laws can be ab even bigger pain than the mother in laws.

  3. Awwwwww Grandpa is super thrilled over his grandchild! Very sweet!

  4. Lau Dan is a great husband, father, grandpa and a father-in-law

    1. Congrats to them and yes,Hawick is very very lucky to have such a good father and yang Mi is lucky to have a great father in law. Their family is very lucky to have him.

  5. Love grandpa smile! hehe looks like a picnic basket.

  6. congratulation to them, the baby must have a good looking like her mum and dad, granpa looks extremely happy 🙂

  7. Why are they all wearing shades inside the hospital? Oh yeah, to remain inconspicuous and unrecognisable! I swear Hawick is looking more and more scary and unnatural, like those plastic mannequins in shop windows.

    1. Both parents simply look like mannequins. I wonder what the baby looks like?

      1. “Both parents simply look like mannequins. I wonder what the baby looks like?”

        I know! I know!

        The answer…

        A DOLL!!

      2. The baby won’t look to bad because both parents don’t look bad pre-surgery. If the baby looks like Yang Mi, she will be very pretty because Yang Mi already look pretty before her surgery rumour.

    2. dude, just because people are not ugly like you doesn’t mean they got plastic surgeries. geez. lol

      1. @Tom,
I see what your saying but in this case, Hawick did had surgery or surgeries. Dont know about his wife.

      2. Tom, get real…..or maybe a pair of glasses! They might help you see better. You obviously need it.

      3. True, but when someone naturally looks handsome or pretty, the looks are different versus looks that are a result of PS.

    3. um…because of paparazzi? and cameras? and flash photography?

anyway, yang mi probably did have PS, but she was cute even when she was young so it’s not like she was ugly or anything.

      1. Yang Mi did have PS,but she still looks like herself overall. She had her nose enhanced because her natural nose hung down in the center and was a bit flatter before. Now it is a bit higher and the middle part does not hang down anymore.

      2. She was mediocre before PS but that’s just my opinion. The important thing is how she felt about her look and her choice kinda tells you how she felt. It’s a real pity because idols keep telling you to believe in yourself and be happy. They themselves are the exact opposite.

    4. sunglasses to cover the million flashes from cameras and stuff.. duhhhhhh

  8. naww lovely family! grandpa has his big happy smile on his face!

  9. Yang Mi and Hawick are both beautiful and handsome regardless of them having done plastic surgeries or not. Period.

You lowlife people would start criticizing a newborn child. Really now?

    1. The obvious big time hater is that person with the name ”lol”

      1. you got a problem with that sandy dude? just cos i said something which happens to be true but you don’t like reading it?

  10. When celebrities don’t look good enough to your standard of beauty, you say they’re ugly. When they fix up, you say they’re fake. When they don’t use photoshop on their pictures, you criticize every single pore, every line you see. And when they use photoshop, you still say they’re fake. Seriously…pull out a mirror and look at yourself first before judging someone else’s appearance.

    1. Agree. Ppl should stfu sometimes, and where’s the proof they had ps or not? Enough of that, and congratulations to the new born baby !

  11. For those who criticize and bash look and think before you say or do anything. Plus they should enjoy this moment let them be alright
