Angela Tong Gives Joyce Tang a Birthday Kiss

After three months of filming and post-production, TVB’s 2014 Lunar New Year drama Queen Divas <新抱喜相逢> hit off the holiday week with its premiere on January 20, 2014. The 15-episode comedy family drama stars Nancy Sit (薛家燕) as a stubborn mother-in-law who has two equally stubborn award-winning television actresses as daughter-in-laws: Kwok Fei Fei (Joyce Tang 滕麗名) and Man Choi Ling (Angela Tong 湯盈盈).

On January 20, Nancy invited the drama’s cast and crew for a five-table dinner to watch the premiere episode together. Since Joyce’s 38th birthday was on the same day, her husband, Matthew Chu (朱建崑) came for the dinner as well. Presented with a birthday cake, the newlyweds happily kissed each other. Angela later gave Joyce a kiss on the lips and gift to wish her a memorable birthday as well.

As one of the drama’s lead actresses, Angela originally offered to help Nancy pay the meal, but Nancy turned her down. “Next time!” said Angela. “We can take turns treating the crew! I predict that we will at least have a few more dinners together.”

Queen Divas is the first comeback drama for Angela, who was on maternal leave after giving birth to daughter Alyssa Chin (錢凱晴) in March 2013. At the mention that her husband Chin Ka Lok (錢嘉樂), who is part of the Super Trio <超級 無敵獎門人終極篇> cast, may have to go overseas during Lunar New Year, Angela said, “We’re not sure if that’s going to happen, but if he is going, I’ll go with him! However, we have a big family now. I still have to visit my father and mother-in-law.” Angela added that she gets along with her in-laws very well.

Queen Divas also stars Ngo Ka Nin (敖嘉年), Evergreen Mak (麥長青), Yuen Qiu (元秋), Anderson Junior (安德尊), and Jonathan Wong (王梓軒).
