Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam Share Perfect Chemistry in “The Apostle”
Although they have not collaborated in years, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Raymond Lam (林峯) are able to easily fall back into their old work rhythm, making filming of The Apostle <使徒行者> a piece of cake.
One of TVB’s most popular on-screen couples, Charmaine and Raymond’s real life friendship translates into perfect chemistry as they portray a pair of bickering undercover informants who later fall in love. Comfortable around each other, the two were lively on the set and brought a fun and carefree spirit into their performances.
They also had no qualms about being intimate during some of the more romantic scenes. On February 10, the pair was on location to shoot a scene where Charmaine consoles Raymond with a tight hug. Battling low temperature and bitter wind chill, the two had no complaints as they repeated the scene over ten times for the crew to capture the best angles. Despite shivers and sniffles, Charmaine and Raymond made good effort to look convincing and were happy with the results.
Even though there were rumors that Raymond turned down TVB’s new year film series A Time For Love <愛情來的時候> because he did not want to work with Charmaine, his friendliness with his co-star certainly proved them baseless gossips. Off the set, the two were often seen chatting and joking with each other, appearing relaxed and having a good time. When reporters commented that Charmaine seems to fare better filming in the cold weather, Raymond quickly tattled that she had hid heat packs underneath her clothes, a benign tease similar to those between silly friends or beloved siblings.
Although the two will share romantic sparks in the series, Charmaine feels that the sentiments will largely be implied and warned viewers that there may not be any kissing scenes. A new and unique role for both, Charmaine and Raymond must work hard to deliver in what seems to be a heavily character-driven series. Luckily, their enthusiasm and good working relationship make the process that much easier.

Eventhough Charmaine’s is older in age than Raymond, but I never find her look older than Raymond. They’ve always looked so compatible, wish Charmaine is the one dating Raymond instead of Karena.
Nah, not happening. They see each other as buddies (heng dai). I actually prefer it that way, plus they don’t have much rumors when working together.

It’s quite depressing to see him date a girl that is FOURTEEN years younger than him. It’s like a old man with a little girl. Very creepy…. No wonder the press won’t let them go, they have issues. But.. if one is willing to sell her body for money and one is willing to give money for sex, then I guess it’s win-win but I wouldn’t endorse that.

Are they filming in HK? If so,why is it so cold? I thought it never got that cold in HK? Anyways,I am glad to hear that they get along so well . Hope this series has a good plot and everything.
HK can be 6-10 degree C (sometimes lower) in winter. Quite normal, not too special. If it gets 4-5 then it’s irregular.
Thanks for the info. Strange how many that have been to HK always tell me that it never really gets cold.
Obviously these people were never there at year end sitting at the harbour at night watching the light shows and shivering half to death. HK can get very very chilly but luckily not much wind unlike Taiwan which can really freeze you to death.
4-5 degrees and people are shivering? Then people aren’t dressing properly for the temperature 😛 Come to Canada in the winter… then you’ll experience COLD. We had days of -20 with the windchill pushing it into the -30s this year. =D
I have been to HK during the winter. And basically, HK’s cold weather = BC’s spring weather. People in HK looked us weirdly because we were only wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. But people in HK were wearing coats, and whatnot.
But them being not used to the cold may be due to the fact that they do not have any heaters. :3
I never knew that it can get that cold in Taiwan. I used to have a classmate that claimed it never got cold and that California was colder.
I guess HK’s definition of cold is different from other regions of freezing cold weather.
Also I heard there different kinds of cold. In California when it is cold, you literally feel it lingering in your bones so even wearing lots of clothing does not help. But the cold weather in Europe from what I heard is just cold on the outside where you just wear more clothes and you feel better.
That is not cold at all! The states are getting hit hard with snow and the workers working outside are the ones that are cold. It’s funny how the reporters are praising them when it’s just 1-2 degrees “below” average.

What is wrong with him dating someone 14 years younger as long as she is past the legal age which she is? My uncle married my aunt who is 15 years younger and they have been married for 30+ years and I can tell you that my uncle and aunt look around the same age because women generally age more and faster than men do. Therefore,I do not see what the big deal is that he is dating someone younger. I can imagine if they end up together that she will look around the same age or maybe even older at some point since women just biologically age faster then men do.
I agree with puff that you should not keep on attacking Ray or anyone who likes him. If you gate him so much,why spend so much time on him? Wouldn’t it be better to spend it doing more productive things or on people that you actually like?
