Kevin Cheng Slims Down For “Eye In The Sky”

Although Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) is by no means overweight, he was still determined to shed some pounds in order to look his best for Eye In The Sky <天眼>, his major TVB comeback. Looking slimmer and energetic, the 44-year-old attracted the attention of female passersby during a location shoot on May 21.

Despite being in his mid-forties, Kevin’s youthful face and charismatic personality continue to make fans swoon. Returning to TVB after spending over two years establishing his presence in Mainland China, Kevin has taken care to be in tip-top shape, and looks refreshed and ready for the filming ahead.

Playing a police with a passion for solving difficult crimes, Kevin will star opposite first-line talents Tavia Yeung (楊怡) and Ruco Chan (陳展鵬). Tavia plays a private investigator who takes over her father’s agency, and Ruco will portray a friendly character who will eventually reveal his darker side. The three will become involved in a love triangle, and Kevin will reportedly share a kissing scene with Tavia.

With little time to exercise due to his busy lifestyle, Kevin relied on a strict diet for weight loss and has shed ten pounds so far. “I have no time to work out once filming began, so I could only watch what I eat. I stopped eating sugar, oily fried foods, and junk foods. I also try to eat light meals in order to lose weight.”

Looking and feeling great, Kevin exudes positive energy and is even spreading his good spirits around the set. Compared to their last collaboration in 2009’s A Fistful Of Stances <鐵馬尋橋>, Tavia feels that Kevin is now showing off a much more vibrant side. “Kevin used to act cool, but now he talks too much and always jokes around. He made filming very relaxing.”

  2. nice! looking forward for his comeback on TVB

  3. hi there

    1. playing opposite two tvb greats, tavia and ruco.
    2. kevin needs to work on it.
    3. hope that eye in sky can fetch awards in the year-end award presentation.

    1. Re: point 3, yeah, me too……..for Ruco I mean.

  4. I am so confused over this picture. So very confused.

    1. “Kevin used to act cool, but now he talks too much and always jokes around. He made filming very relaxing.”

She’s right. He loosened up after BBJX, more relaxed.

      1. I don’t know what to feel about Eye In The Sky. The story seems to have shifted and change so much, I feel it now is a series with a great title but the same old story. However the prospect of Ruco as some evil dude is interesting but I’d rather there is an assassin somewhere.

      2. If only they kept Tavia’s original role as an assasin, in addition to Ruco’s darker side character…now that would be interesting. At least more so than what they had changed the entire plot to..

  5. kevin cheng indeed look and act cool as whats the earlier conflict during the “gloves come off” series…Glad he has assume an easy going, more social attitude now..maybe the mainland china lifestyle filming has really opened up his mindset…

ruco is still the hottest tvb actor there and glad this new series have 2 hot actors to boost the hot plot and push up the mediocre TVB ratings recently.

  6. Very very excited for this trio!!!

But kinda disappointed the story differs a lot from the sales presentation. Would of love to see tavia as an assassin

  7. all of these wonderful actress are all great tv film actors
theya re never like this=:( they are always like this>.< yeah i suppoet them always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

  8. Support Ruco, Kevin, and Tavia. Hope they add in Charmaine, Myolie, Bernice, Joey Meng, or Jessica Hsuan to help persuading/leading Ruco into a good guy.

  9. Like most of you I too am looking forward to the series and have great expectations for it’s success!

  10. I still wished this was an ancient series instead. When will tvb ever put out the time and money for a good and decent wuxia/ancient series again? They are making way too many modern series lately.

    1. And all the ancient series they do actually make seem to be comedies too. Perhaps something to do with HK people’s taste…

  11. Kevin looks “so plastic” these days. He doesnt feel as very comfortable in the way he smiles as he used to be during those previous years. So sad……

Even Ruco is more naturally handsome than Kevin.

    1. Maybe because botox restricts facial movements?

    2. Kevin’s face looks very stiff and plasticky and his smile is crooked. Such a pity he had to do all these aesthetic improvements to himself. He’s a handsome man who should look equally good with a few wrinkles on his face instead of the stiff plastic mask he has on now.

  12. kevin is a good actor … give kevin a boring role he makes it the most blank boring role… giving him a good role and he wins best actor kevin is a best actor tv king

  13. Looking forward to seeing Kevin on tvb again

  14. i’m pretty excited for this drama, really like kevin and tavia 😀 but like Funn Lim and Clementine said, i wish tavia kept her old role of the cool assassin, that’s more interesting than the character she has now

  15. Well, let’s hope that the plot is not so predictable and that there are a few surprises waiting for us!

  16. Tavia should be an assassin! Somewhat similar to A Great Way to Care 2 but even malicious!
