Tavia Yeung and Louis Cheung Film “Against the War of Tangxi”

The cast of TVB drama Against the War of Tangxi <逆戰塘西> is currently busy at work filming. Starring Louis Cheung (張繼聰) and Tavia Yeung (楊怡), the drama centers on Louis’ role Kam Wah, a corrupt cop who eventually finds his conscience and becomes a righteous lawman.

Tavia, who plays a maid, reveals that she will have a few actions scenes throughout the series. Asked if she was afraid of injury, Tavia said, “I can’t be afraid. I’ll just make sure to be more careful!” Mentioning that she will expose her bare back to Louis in an upcoming shower scene, Tavia responded, “That’s my limit! No more!”

While Tavia will try to stay as covered up as possible, Louis said he will have shirtless scenes. The actor said he recently caught a bad cold and it had affected his voice. Louis joked that he has already “quarantined” himself so he will not get the rest of the cast sick. Despite the hectic filming schedules for the drama, Louis believes that he will recover soon thanks to his son’s warm and sentimental text messages.

“Recently I’ve been returning home at 4 a.m. and going back to work at 7 a.m. My son doesn’t even think I’m in Hong Kong! But he would ask where I was and would always say that he missed me! I really want to finish work sooner so I can go home!”

With Lunar New Year coming up on February 19, Tavia was asked if she will have time to pay her relatives a visit, including boyfriend Him Law‘s (羅仲謙) parents. Tavia said with a laugh, “No need to! We all know each other. However, I will be going around collecting red packets. I’m not married yet, so I should still get them!”

Asking if Louis will pass out red packets for the upcoming Lunar New Year, Tavia jumped into the conversation and said that Louis needs to give her one. Louis agreed, but expressed that Tavia should get married soon so he will not have to give her one anymore.

  1. Was watching Noblese Oblige tonight and I can’t help but notice the huge green vein on tavia’s forehead. She sounded ok but the green vein was probably an indication how tired she was. She should take a rest, health first. And she looks puffy in the above picture.

    1. yeh agree, but if she really want to rest she have to quit tvb and sign with another station,as long as you are working for tvb and you are a hot fadan then you dont have to expect tvb will let you rest, good exaple is grace chan.

      1. any artiste working for tvb can forget having an easy time, especially if he/she is a star. tavia looks haggard in the present drama.

    2. Looooool the green vein is fake hahahha! It was purposely drawn in because of her character, having lost her memory etc. it’s all part of her makeup lmao

      1. It was drawn on? I didnt notice until that episode. Then good. Was a bit worried her health. But kenneths skin is really bad.

      2. Yeah tavia actually clarified in an interview while they were filming about the green vein, reporters asked about it and she said it was all makeup for her characters storyline.

    3. Isn’t green vein Kenneth’s nickname for her in the drama in early episodes? Perhaps he was referring to it?

      1. Yeah it was, he kept calling her “green vein” during the first half of the series when they were still bickering

      1. Lmao please educate yourself. That’s not what misogyny is. And Funn did not insult her face. She merely pointed out that Tavia looked tired.

      2. funn can protect herself. no need for you guys to defend her. LOL

she also has the older fan community + jayne to back her up. Hurting funn does you no good if you target her.

  2. Wow so Louis Cheung is leading man now? Immediatley after winning most improved actor award?

    1. Isn’t that for every single drama nowadays ? Lol, everything is quite typical, they are recycling storylines or copying existing dramas from other cultures. It’s no surprise.

  3. Tavia indeed looks tired in Noblesse Oblige. It could be all the kung fu moves she had to do for this drama. Practising for these moves plus all the retakes can be pretty exhausting. In any case, Tavia seems to be disinterested in this drama at times. It could be besides the fighting skills, her role in Noblesse Oblige is rather straightforward that does not require much of her strong acting skills. It’s a waste since Tavia is certainly capable of much more. Having said all that, she still looks very pretty, despite her being tired, .

    1. i think tavia’s role is a bit small for a tv queen like her,it looks like her role is subordinated to that of kenneth ma,only towards the end of the story comes her role central in the drama.

    2. I agree this role didn’t allow her to do much in terms of acting, but I’m actually enjoying the whole casts chemistry. It’s actually the second half of the series that her characters story gets to unfold more, and it’s already the end of the series 🙁

  4. Although I like Louis in acting but I don’t really see him in the male lead I rather see someone else lead in this series maybe Bosco Roger Ruco and Kevin I guest all of them have project on hand at the time so that’s why they gave him a shot

    1. His acting is pretty good but too bad he has no star power material, same with Bobby Au Yeung, Francis Ng, Moses Chan, Bowie Lam, etc. It’s fortunate for Louis Cheung as his era isn’t 80’s or early 90’s when TVB had so many talented actors with good looks apperance. Bobby & Francis had slow start to be cast as main lead in TVB drama at that time.

  5. Tavia’s character’s look in this drama reminds me of Linda’s look in All That is Bitter is Sweet.

  6. Pls no more of tavia acting pityfil crying scene. Can’t the producer let her have some challenging role like a evil woman, home breaker or something? Sick of her pathetic poor soul act.
